that's weird, before I switched to a custom loop my H100i couldn't even keep my 4670k @ 1.3V under control....

i think i have a good unit the fans are at stock rpms 45idle at avg 80s

i only did that for benchmark i run 4.48ghz with 1.45vcore 24/7 i dont turn my pc off.

@alihazzi7 A quick question i would have: How does it perform in gaming. I thought about buying a extreme II for ~130€ and the cpu for ~80€, just for fun, i love overclocking and, well, you see my system. H87 and xeon; if i dont get it that far, oh well ill use it for a server.

Could you do some benchmarks like tomb raider or something if you have it?

Anything :D. Id just want to know if ill get worse performance than my current xeon (ofc. in games that use more than 4 cores.)

X5650's are usually sub 100 dollars on ebay

Editedit: what motherboard are you on that you can overclock a xeon anyway?

and what about a new motherboard?

with such high voltages changes are you'll fry more than the CPU if it fails.
