What pc related jobs pay well?

farhanorakzai

My parents want me to be a doctor because it pays a lot, but I don't really care that much for the subject. I am at my happiest when building pcs for people and touching parts. (I almost cried the first time I touched a Titan) What can I do in the area the pays? I start college next year

Well maybe programmer or even just IT manager in respect to networks or just communications in general. Technician doesn't really pay that well to be honest. What are you going to study at college?

Don't live your life based on what job you you can do for the most money, you should really do what makes you happy. I couldn't care if I got paid 100K if I hated the job I would still be miserable.

I agree with networking, with a specialised job like that it would pay highly.

I remember when I got someone to look at my business networking it cost me $127 p/h, it was ridiculous.

If your parents are paying for your college, they have the right to force you. If you are paying for it, then they should let you do whatever you want

What job pc related doesn't pay well? Want an idea parents love you won't hate too much, and if you decide against it in college you'll still have very useful degrees? Aim for a teacher in the computer field...

It was your hard work that got you into college, so you should choose what you want to do. You parents may be upset, but they will get over it. It's your life, not theirs.

Alright man but if you want to earn good money on stuff related to computing you must study it at college rather than having it as a hobby. e.g Computer science, software development/engineering etc.

I'm learning programming, simply because its useful in a WHOLE load of computer jobs, so its a good thing to even learn basic programming just so you know the basic concept of things.

I'm not sure how good it pays, but I'm sure decently well, but I want to be a Malware Scientist, a Malware Analyst or a Cyber Security Researcher.

But my advice, is don't go for what pays the most.  Go for what you want to do.  For example I love exploring computer security, malware and stuff.  You might like programming applications or networking.  Whatever you like, go for it.

he said "hacking" as a job... hacking isn't a job unless you do it illegally.  Hacking and patching exploits and vulnerabilities is something different.

The word hacking as a job in at least the tech security world means hacking illegally for self profit.

As a doctor you'd be touching plenty of parts  :P But real talk, you can like more than one thing . You can have a career in any field you like and still be a techie. Just pick a career were you won't get bored and for the love of god try to avoid any jobs were you have to sit down all day. I had a desk job one summer and my but was aching and I got fat and it was horrible.
