YAY SOMEONE AGREES WITH ME!!

Here's the way I've always really thought of it.

People choose what works for them. To overly care that "UUUUUUURRRGHH, THEY MADE THE WRONG CHOICE" in itself is incorrect. I bought a Mac as a general use machine. People would tell me that I should have just bought a cheaper desktop from some other brand, but not everything is about them.

To make it short, let people have their opinions so long as they cause no harm to others. You're not going to die because someone bought a Mac.

More ram = better prerformance

More expensive = better performance

Higher number = better performance

High clock speed = better performance

More cores = better performance

More storage = better performance

higher DPI = better performance

can you see where I'm getting with this?

Depending on workload, more ram = better real world performance in the sense your computer isn't struggling for system memory. Though, this is purely for usage sake and not magic extra performance.

This depends if the parts were picked with sense ect. I've seen solid builds on this forum and I've also seen things I facepalm when it comes to spending money for the overall build.

Now this one is vague. Are we talking the types of people who are dumb who would think a 8800 GTX was more hardcore than a 780 GTX because of more numbers or more performance that's actually measurable as being better?

Another vague one. A modern day CPU at 3.3Ghz will destroy a Core 2 Quad that was pushed to 4Ghz due to the arch being more modern. If we're talking a 1 to 1 comparison with identical cpus, higher clock speed /is/ more performance that is measurable.

For rendering, more cores /are/ better. While not needed for gaming yet, games that use 8 cores will start to become more common place in the next years.

Only an out of touch non techie would ever think more storage = more performance. I certainly hope no one who joined this forum thinks this....

Ogod, my mouse goes up to 8200 and that is nauseating how twitchy it is. I keep mine in the middle.

My dad has a mac. I love OSX. He loves OSX as all of his iPhone pictures are on there and iTunes actually works properly (get rekt). I personally love macs, and nearly everything from apple. They scream quality. /opinion

The worrying thing is, that sounds eerily like what is the case in my house.

I am not a fanboy at this point.

I do like some of Apple's products, but other products from them along with their business practices and overall direction are ones I disagree with. My dad, for example, hates Apple. But he buys their products because they work for what he does well.

Not entirely related, but I love it when someone from a retail store tries to talk tech to say, someone's mom in an attempt to sound impressive when they haven't the slightest clue what they are talking about.

sorry for being unclear. As for the vagueness, I was referring to older CPUs @ 4ghz being "better" than an i5 @ 3.6ghz

same with the "more cores" thing.

as for the GPUs, I've heard scrubs argue that their 750 is better than a 670 because it's a higher number.

Not sure if this is actually a myth or not, but apparently PC's in black cases run hotter then PC's in white cases

In theory, this'd be true.

I don't really have anything against Apple either, I'm writing this on an iPad, but their parts aren't always the best bang for the buck. That's why most people consider them overpriced. As for OS X, I might try making a VM with it, just for fun.

this is a tricky one.

Black can absorb radiation better in most cases, but the difference would be almost 0%

My family is Apple orientated though in many ways. I can't think of anyone in my family who dosent own an iPhone except for one of my nans....

RAID 0 will cause the quantum wave function to hit a singularity.

RAID 0 with at least two non-exactly the same type/size/color/weight drives will cause the streams of tech to open up a vortex hole in the solar system.

RAID 0 will increase the number of failure points in your system, but OC-ing, SLI (X-Fire), Multiple Core CPU's, more than two RAM sticks, does not.

RAID 0 will cause a data black hole if one fails but one drive failing in a one drive system is OK.

I roll with sigs off so I have no idea what you're advertising.

This is NOT the signature you are looking for.
