My favorite music genre is Heavy Metal (Even though I work at a pop music station) and my favorite band is Avenged Sevenfold and I was curious what bands and what types of music you guys listen to.

But you can find me listening from anything from Metal to Rock to Emo to Dance to Opera to Classical

 

Really depends what mood I am in, I like some music in all genres, but It is more the band or artist I like than the genre itself. (if that makes sense) ie, 99% of hip hop is terrible as is 99% of rock and metal but the bands I do like are amazing

EDM. Mostly electro and melodic dubstep. Basically most of what Monstercat puts out.

I do hate a question such as that. It is really difficult to pinpoint a favourite artist from the wide range of music I listen to.

 

Also, I've never even listened to Monstercat.

I also like electronic music as long as it reminds me of prog metal. I never hated EDM before, but then I had a roommate who only listened to EDM. Thought metal was the most generic music genre... I was wrong.

I agree, I like EDM music, but the music that Monstercat puts out just doesn't sound that great.

Although I enjoy EDM and some Rock, Hip Hop/Rap has to be my favorite genre.

 

Some of my favorite rappers are Chief Keef, Mac Miller, Gucci Mane, Fredo Santana, MF DOOM, Freddie Gibbs and Ab-Soul, and a loooooooooot more

 

EDIT: I just realized the question is what bands, I don't listen to that many but i do like Queens Of The Stone Age, Rage Against The Machine, Linkin Park, and Arctic Monkeys quite a bit.

the worst part is a lot of it is that new age beepbeepboop wub wub "electronic" that sounds like skrillex and makes dubstep and EDM in general look so bad.

I'm at a point where I don't even click embedded Monstercat videos.

if you mean the music that freddy and killers post in the music thread I don't even play them anymore lol I feel like an asshole for ignoring their postings but I always dislike them.

 

I like some older basic dubstep but I'm not a huge proponent of it as a genre TBH, I prefer dnb/jungle to dubstep as a rule.
