The title doesnt lie, the gt 705A is a rebadge of the GT705, which was a rebadge of the GT610 which was a rebadge of the GT520.

I apologise for my tardy behaviour, this card arrived on the 1st of July yet I report on it nearly 3 weeks later.

Anyways lets dive into the specs and see whats changed

GT 705A   GT705(this one is the old version)

gpu clock      775mhz       810mhz                   As you can see this gpu is such a behemoth its facing the same issues that the Titan Z is facing and they had to underclock it in order to actually be able to cool it, cant wait to see the pcb.

aaaaannddd thats all for the changes, it always shocks me, these behemoths how can they be tamed and boy are they rare, have you seen a Gt 705 because ive not and the previous version came out in March.

I am 35% sure that this is the crazy stuff that Linus got forced to meet Nvidia about, I can only hope that the higher power which can control this card enjoys it.

You may strike the behemoths down but they will rise up again, with a slight decrease in performance but they will be rised, risen, risened. nvm

That is all lads hope you enjoyed.

Why would anyone care at that price and performance point. Has 48 CUDA cores if I read correctly. No one who buys a chip that crappy would care how many times it was rebadged. Seriously though, who would buy a chip like this when integrated graphics are a thing.

This is for the guys and girls out there with old machines but would rather get a gpu for £20 instead of getting a new system, the reason as to why, money

Why not just use integrated? I mean Nvidia isn't making any money off these. I mean how many could they possibly sell? 2000 chips?

You do realize these cards are really only used as a ultra cheap solution for businesses to enable stuff like letting employees use 2 monitors.

these are only like $15-$30 a pop and are in no way designed for or intended for gaming. you don't need anything more than this if you just need 2 monitors for excel. Bitching about this makes as much since as a gamer bitching about the Titan Z or a Quadro card costing thousands.  these cards are not gaming cards. nor is gaming the target market for them.

Please dont route me into the mess of people not understanding how money works, i totally get the reason for this cards existence, they are better then most people would expect, with a gt 610(which is now the above card) you can power four 1080p screens, then you can ram four 1080p youtube videos on all of the screens at once without frame drops thats surprised me.

Did you not understand, this is for people with old machines, by old i mean prescott cpus, p4s and p3s, hell even the early core 2 series. At any rate if they want multi screen support or windows aero then intergrated graphics is a not very nice before the i series came around. Also these gpus mainly the gt210 and the gt520 they sell A LOT

The GeForce 610 has no heating issue, I don't know where you are coming from this. And yes I know this, because we have a nice great quantity of GeForce 610's in our computers at work, and we plan to get even more of them. All are passively cooled.

They are fine graphics cards.

When people will get out in their head that "dedicated" graphics solution, doesn't mean 'Must play the latest and great PC at ultra setting at 4K, at 60Hz'. These cards have a purpose on the market, and we at work, really need them.

The re-badge is most likely to keep all currently selling cards the same series numbers. Yes, it helps push sales, because AMD would do the same, and it look strange to people that don't know any better, that you have GeForce 700 series, 800 series soon, and you have a 520 being sold. It would like that the card is old, and people would buy the card form AMD, which is a re-badge of an old one. For us at work, we just get what is available 610 or now 705, that is cheapest, we know it is the same thing.

Also you have a mistake in your post. It is:

GeForce GT 710

and

GeForce 705A

There is no: GeForce GT 705A

Hey, let's all make ignorant jokes about a product we don't understand.   Do some real research before you start ripping into a product because it doesn't do what it's not supposed to do.

Grammar and spelling is not indicative of intelligence/knowledge.  Not having the same opinion does not always mean lack of understanding.

Isn't really an enthusiast card anyway. OEMs might use it for their nasty pre-builts.

That's all fine and good but what's the point of rebranding them so fucking much? Just call it Nvidia Geforce Get-dual-monitors-working-Quake-III-and-nothing-else. Maybe not as catchy but just choose a name like "Geforce Advantage PCIe" and bam, who the fuck cares about the specs since they don't even change at all, why change the name then?

Also much like the Titan Z, if it's not meant for gaming why the fuck they insists on calling them geforce
