Just so you know that's about 1073 light riding horses. 14 hands or so.

muh specs

Gaming and HTPC (reparations)- ASUS 1080, MSI X99A SLI Plus, 5820k- 4.5GHz @ 1.25v, asetek based 360mm AIO, RM 1000x, 16GB memory, 750D with front USB 2.0 replaced with 3.0  ports, 2 250GB 850 EVOs in Raid 0 (why not, only has games on it), some hard drives

Screens- Acer preditor XB241H (1080p, 144Hz Gsync), LG 1080p ultrawide, (all mounted) directly wired to TV in other room

Stuff- k70 with reds, steel series rival, g13, full desk covering mouse mat

All parts black

Workstation(desk)- 3770k, 970 reference, 16GB of some crucial memory, a motherboard of some kind I don't remember, Micomsoft SC-512N1-L/DVI, CM Storm Trooper (It's got a handle, can you handle that?), 240mm Asetek based AIO, Crucial M550 256GB (upgrade soon), some hard drives, disc drives, and hot swap bays

Screens- 3  ASUS VN248H-P IPS 1080p screens mounted on a stand, some old tv on the wall above it.

Stuff- Epicgear defiant (solderless swappable switches), g600, moutned mic and other stuff.

Laptop docking area- 2 1440p korean monitors mounted, one AHVA matte, one samsung PLS gloss (very annoying, yes). Trashy Razer blackwidow chroma...I mean like the J key doesn't click anymore. I got a model M i use on it to, but its time for a new keyboard. Some edgy Utechsmart mouse similar to g600. Hooked to laptop dock for both of my dell precision laptops. (not only docking area)

Shelf- i7-2600 non-k (has vt-d), 380t, some ASUS sandy itx board, intel quad nic. Currently hosts shared files, setting up as pfsense box in VM. Also acts as spare gaming PC with a 580 or whatever someone brings. Hooked into laptop dock area via usb switch

I suggest we know define the unit "cloud" as the total weight of the arbitrary number of 1073 light riding horses

With this new revolutionary unit, the sun now weigh about 4x1023 clouds or 4.292x1026 light riding horses

To simplifly, we could say the sun is 4x1017 megaclouds

Because there's honestly no difference. Neither one has an advantage, being divisible by ten means the same as any other unit of measurement, you still need to be able to do basic math to use it.

metric has a huge advantage because everyone uses it but america and like 2 tiny countries xD would be easier if we were all on the same page

Oh there is a difference.

One is that the metric system is used pretty much in the entire world,so it is used on a larger scale.

We have 10 fingers. We count in base 10.It's logical to use 10-s.

Even more so,the 10 is constant from one unit to another. However, going from 12, to 3 and then to 1760 is...what the hell?

That's its great advantage? that everyone else uses it?

That's not an advantage, it's a tactical weakness. (good luck standing around calculating how far away things are if you try to invade America)

Furthermore, the Metric system is equally arbitrary, they took a certain unit of length, and called it a meter, then divided and multilplied by ten.

Still, either system requires a basic mathematical ability to use. Not to mention that the metric system is less efficient (the names of the units of measure are far longer, thus requiring more time and energy to be spoken, unecessarily so. I know the purpose behind each name is how many of that unit of measure is in a meter, but why is that a necessity of the name of the unit of measure, when you have to know that regardless of the name?

Funny, if I said that English should be the universal language on earth I'd get called a racist or something, but we should all us the same, equally arbitrary unit of measurement? No thanks.

Again, you need a basic level of math ability to use either so.....

point invalid.

Also, we use base 10, but it's also nice to occasionally use base 8 or base 2 (1/8th of an inch, 1/2 an inch).

You're reasoning is equally arbitrary as my unit of measure seems to be, everybody uses it (so? I though diversity was good)

The only measureable difference between the two standards is that the metric system is less efficient to comminicate verbally to others, because it has longer names.

Oh please,it's not that.

There needs to be a unit that COULD be used anywhere, not necessarily to be used.

It's like I would go in China,I would speak Romanian and I'd expect everyone to understand what I'm saying.

I can agree, but arbitrarily saying something is better because it's based on 10, is as about as arbitrary as our unit of measure seems to be constructed. This comment usually made by those people with no experience with our system of measurement, and it's actual innate usefulness.

For instance,

I do occasional automotive work on our vehicles, and having some experience at this, can spot the difference, usually without checking, between a bolt requiring a 3/8ths of an inch socket, and a bolt requiring a 1/2 of an inch socket. Can you, without checking the sockets, tell the difference between a bolt requiring a 5mm socket and one requiring a 6mm socket? I can't, every time I have to break out the metric socket set, I end up having to check 3 sockets to find the right one, and even then it never really seems to fit right.

But remember that the weight is spread over a large area (often vast area) with the collection of all the water particles otherwise it would drop like a well a cloud :P

with all this debate about units, I love how the size is a Kilometer cubed. yet the weight is in pounds. yay logic.

I think the best quote I related to this topic is along the lines of "there is countries that use the metric system, then there is countries that been to the moon"
