Where do you UKers live?

flibberdipper

So, thing is my family might be moving over to the UK or Australia, since the pole shift (a Google search should give you the needed results) will fuck the Western Hemisphere up in 10 years. So I'm curious where all of you UKers live. The place will need to mainly speak English, and be fairly easy to move in and get a job.

Pole shifts are extremely unfounded and the past predictions of them have not come true. I suggest you wait patiently like the rest of us.

What about a pole shift, and it fucking up the Western Hemisphere in ten year?

Pole shifts, global warming, whatever. We die; we die. It's as simple as that. Apprentissage les langues differentes sont importantes? C'est vrai, mon ami.

Is English the dominant language?

I can understand about 4 different languages: English, French, Cantonese Chinese, and Vietnamese; I can read and write 2: English and French; and I can speak 3: English, French, and Vietnamese. I sort of know some Spanish curse words and for whatever reason can sort of guess what a person is saying in Spanish, Italian, and German sometimes due to the similarities English and French have with them. Also, Japanese is sort of becoming a thing as more anime I watch aren't available in English. I'd like to learn Russian and German - I don't know why for Russian, but German would be cool for tech, autos, and stuff.

As for English being the dominant language? That's sort of subjective since there's probably more people speaking Mandarin Chinese then there's people speaking English. In terms of usage, probably and that's why some people don't like English especially people from the States.

Also, accents are quite attractive in my opinion. A cute French accent for one; I knew a girl who had a French accent.

Umm, I live in Edinburgh.. I'd think the pole shifts are just as likely to eff this place up just as badly as any other place O.o. I wouldn't really recommend moving here as anything we provide here can be provided elsewhere unless you care about the culture and that type of thing.

We die; we die. That was almost vaguely atheist/nihilistic.

I agree, however life is too short to waste time imagining science to feed our appetite for chaos and melodrama.

I'm slowly become more pessimistic, nihilistic, and misanthropic as time goes by. Heard about the recent Gaza Strip attack? Y'know what came to mind when I heard that? "Why not bomb the whole world so it'll all end?" I didn't say it in front of my parents, but it's becoming more disturbing since I'm starting to believe the only true peace is when everything dies - animate and inanimate. That's worse than a farce like nuclear deterrence, hooking up everyone and making dreamlike paradises for them, or even an outright World War III. Oh well, "shikata ga nai", as the Japanese said during and after World War II. Why can't everyone just let the world be?

What matters, though, are the people we (will) love and care for, the people we meet, and the time spent with them. The little things in life.

Oh, and if anyone's wondering, yes, I believe in "issatsu tasho". I'm no Batman or Superman since sometimes, someone or something must die so that others may live a decent life. This is leads to other alarming thoughts like "What don't we just kill the criminal and be done with it?".
