[ITS HERE, but 899$] Massdrop to have 34UM94- 800$

spwath

IDK if this would be the right place, but they are getting the monitor soon on massdrop for 800$!!!

Will 804

Hey Everyone,

After dozens of calls, emails, pitches, and presentations (drum roll please)... Massdrop has been approved as a direct account with LG!

It's taken some time, but we finally have preliminary pricing for your monitor. If enough people join the buy, we might be able to list it for $800 shipped.

Here's the kicker (and the reason it's taken me six days to post this update), we cant list the 34UM95, we're going to list the 34UM94 instead. Don't know that monitor? Neither does anyone else because it comes from the LG Pro line. Why would we list the pro version? It's the exact same monitor but it comes with an extra two years of manufacturer's warranty. We've also been told the 34UM94 is black instead of silver but we'll confirm when the sample arrives.

What do you think of a 34UM95 with a black case and 3 years of warranty coverage from LG for ~$800 shipped? (all shipped prices are assuming you're in the US, international shipping will cost a small fortune by virtue of the weight)

Let me know and I'll get back to LG for the next steps in getting this listed : )

Seems like a reasonable price for it! Cant wait!

EDIT: Coming later this months posibly

Most people aren't pro enough to know about the pro line.

Really though, like kevinrivers said, it's also called the commercial line. Normally you don't have the option to buy these displays as a consumer.

Aside from the extended warranty and the possibly all-black case (still to be determined), they also have a shorter wait time attached to them. A Massdrop order for the standard 34UM95 wouldn't ship until mid to late August (according to LG) but the 34UM94s should be good to go by late this month.

@LinusTech @spwath @Erik4boss

Unless I'm mistaken it's a decent deal but you can find it for $850 on ShopBLT.

Hmm...

its out of stock.

Is that site trustworthy?

The site is trustworthy.

It's out of stock because they stock it when you order.

First you order, then they order from LG, and then when it arrives at their warehouse they ship it to you.

This item is not in stock. It is ordered from the manufacturer as needed. After you place your order, we will order it from the manufacturer. When it arrives into our warehouse, usually within 15 business days, we will fill your order and ship it to you. If the estimated time of arrival (ETA) changes from 15 business days, we will notify you and update your order's online status.

:o That's awesome

It's too risky for me because they say they don't accept returns.

And there's a high chance that it will arrive broken (for me anyways)

I saw on another forum that they received a one from newegg with a broken screen on one side (so packaging might not be too good)

The main concern I have is the backlight bleed issue...

That seemed to be a problem with the first batch, and they supposedly corrected the issue, which is why they were on back order or out of stock for so long.

Awesome thanks for that! I couldn't figure what monitor this was since I've only heard of the 95 and 65.

I am a bit worried about the backlight bleed and the subsequent RMA issues which I've read about through Reddit (I know.) The other thing is that really bad shipping fee.

I live in Vancouver. Maybe I need to have it shipped to Point Roberts or Bellingham? I wonder if that's a good idea... I mean the cost of this shipping alone would be more expensive than paying the taxes out to the customs!

That was only on early panels.

The later ones don't have the issue afaik.

Don't be too worried about grabbing it (though I'm sure the drop is over), it's the same price all the time from B&H and I'm pretty sure they don't charge for shipping.

There are no customs fees on a monitor. All you'd have to pay is tax, which you'd be paying when buying it in Canada anyway.
