The asus one is worse than the reference it crashes on stress tests because the cooler isnt aligned properly

I'm going with Vapor-X on this one, also I much prefer the looks of the Vapor-X cooler.

I have the gigabyte its quiet and looks great. tbh pick which ever you like the look of better and is the cheapest between sapphire and gigabyte.

previously it was Asus now Gigabyte

 

but still Vapor X the second best card after the 290X Lighting  ;)

Wellllll, the Gigabyte is $359.99 and the Sapphire is $439.99

Go gigabyte its 2 frames slower at most

ASUS fixed that a few months ago.

I do know the 280X overheating VRMs and VRAM was fixed with the V2 model which is using the Matrix Cooler from the HD7970 Matrix Platinum and now 3 slot

but not so sure with the 290 which has the same cooler design as the GTX780 and 780Ti
