"50,000 units of Xiaomi's MiPad sold in just under four minutes"

TopWargamer

Source: http://www.androidcentral.com/50000-units-xiaomis-mipad-sold-just-under-four-minutes

China-based Xiaomi started selling its Android-based tablet, the MiPad, in its home country earlier this week and the company claimed that 50,000 units were sold in its first 3 minutes and 59 seconds.

The MiPad is the first tablet to be released with NVIDIA's new Tegra K1 quad-core processor running at 2.2 GHz. Perhaps more importantly, it's been designed to be a cheaper competitor to Apple's iPad mini. The 7.9 inch MiPad, which comes in five different colors, has a resolution of 2048x1536. Inside there is 2 GB of RAM, an eight megapixel rear camera and a five megapixel front facing camera, along with a 6700 mAh battery.

Xiaomi is selling the MiPad in its 16 GB version for CN¥1,499 ($240), while the 64 GB version is on sale for CN¥1,699 ($270). There is a microSD card slot for even more storage expansion. There's no word yet if the MiPad will be sold outside of China.

This doesn't necessarily surprise me, but man, those numbers sure are impressive, and achieved in just 4 minutes! The MiPad is cheap, powerful, has a high screen resolution, and sports a huge battery, and you can get all of this for as low as ~$240 for the 16GB version.

Anyways, it looks like Xiaomi is on its way to sell yet another super successful product. I just hope that this time it'll officially come to the US. If not, you could always import it...

EDIT: And if you're curious, here's the MiPad's Antutu benchmark score.

Well, ya, because factory defaults still have the preloaded apps on there, because they're preloaded and you can't uninstall them the regular way.

Out of curiosity, what tablet was it?

then why did you say "Bet"?

Oh well nitpicking aside, virtually every company does that and if it goes beyond the level of Samsung bloatware, then that's a problem. (nothing a root and NoBloat can't solve)

Plus, Bloatware does not equal spyware.

Ones just annoying and a pain in the ass and the other steals all your information and uses it to their content.

I honestly don't remember. But it had great build quality, nice screen, and it was pretty fast for the price (came from eBay).

Just wondering mate: Which parts of the CoC would you say that tmc is breaking? Because I honestly can't find anything that violates it...

Xiaomi has been setting so many records in selling their products because of how cheap they are sold at and contains some high end hardware in it.

This thing better be high quality in terms of aesthetics, and maybe in the long run as well.

DANG Such good specs and at an EXTREMELY great price. Basically, it's an ipad mini with android. That's what it looks like. SOOOO, it should sell well at that price. Just the cost with the specs make it WAY better then the ipad mini. It really looks like an ipad though. Same looks and positions of parts. Even the name in similar. Mipad (just take out the M). Apple does make good designs and workable things. They do spend time on details. Their hardware isn't their problem though. This would be an EASY lawsuit in USA and Apple would easily win. Though, in China their laws are different sooo.

Well, it's Xiaomi. So I think it's safe to assume that it's nicely built.
