I'm buying new ram for a new rig soon, money is no object, but what do you think looks better?

My color scheme will be black+yellow+grey, and the custom loop will have yellow coolant.

I'd for with the Kingstons. To me, Dominators only look good when they are fully populated on a X79 board.

Dominators are tested at much higher standards, and are the highest quality ram on the market.

If you paint the silver bars yellow to match your colour scheme it will look badass :D

Dominators don't look all that awesome.

The Kingston's definitely. The silver on the Corsair platinum's wouldn't go with the rest of the build plus i think the looks of them are overrated.

I was going to buy a koolance 380i cpu block, and it's the same color as the platinums, so I as wondering if I should get them.  The kingston kit is only $15 cheaper, so I don't mind spending extra to get the better matching colors.

My fittings will be most likely bitspower black sparkle, which is kind-of a darkish chrome color, so that should match decently as well, although I could get chrome fittings to match everything.

This is the block next to dom platinums:

Thanks @AlwaysFSX and @Enderman I had one other question, EK started making colored backplates, and they have one that's yellow, do you think it'd be to much yellow?

this is the coolant I'll be getting btw:

Seems to me like you are set on the platinums. With the fittings and the block I take back my original statement. The platinums should go nicely.

I'd have lots of yellow coolant, black mobo, probably black/yellow cables/grey maybe to match the platinums as well, haven't decided yet on that part.

I may order one black and one yellow backplate and test them both, but I'm not sure if it'll be way to much yellow.  Good thing about black is it matches just about everything, so I could send the yellow backplate back if I didn't like it.

I'm thinking about doing acrylic but I'm not sure yet.

Well at least you can make everything match. If it's clean then it's not enough. If it's messy then you'll have it looking like too much yellow.

It depends. What other parts of your build are going to be yellow?

Is it just the coolant? Or are you going to paint the motherboard, case, or other parts?

The backplate is going to be pretty bright, and it is only a solid colour, So I would not recommend it if it is next to a lot of other yellow parts.

Spray painting a small black logo on the yellow backplate would also help make it look less plain.

I'll have this mobo (the yellow is off in the picture, it should be more yellowish I think?)

I could get a black backplate, and make a nice stencil that said "M Power" on it with yellow paint? Or something

Yeah I think that would look better.

Black backplate with a yellow M will look better than a yellow backplate with a black M.

PFFT! And yet G.Skill RAM is the only RAM other than Mushkin to clear military-level testing for performance and endurance. Corsair Dominator Platinum is overpriced and never delivers the best latency in any speed until you break above 2400 MHz.

"military testing" is just another marketing scheme to convince people to buy it...

Are you seriously going to use the ram in the middle of a battlefield with 100% humidity, 100 degrees C and crap everywhere? Nope.

Nope, as the DOD provides documentation for it, just like the MSI Z97 Gaming series boards. If anything Corsair's testing claims are a gimmick. I've had 4 kits of just 2400 come DOA.

If a kit ever comes along with that performance it could be bottlenecked by any CPU running at less than 4 GHz lol.
