am I the only one who thinks they should have a dislike button on the forum for comments that people post? Also just wanted to let you know that I got a job so in a few months I will be upgrading my PC :)

I feel like it would cause more problems then its worth.

Although it would be nice to dislike posts sometimes.

Liking a post here is not like liking a comment on Youtube, or Facebook. The forum doesn't make the liked post anymore prominent than others. It's best if they removed liking rather than implement disliking but that might cause lots of unnecessary posts like "Yeah", "I agree" or "+1"

But when someone says something dumb you should tell them why its dumb and not just click a button.

 

Post suggestions here. I personally think there's a report button for that. And constructive criticism works too.

 

 

If you agree with something, then you like it. If you disagree, you quote them to say why. 

but some people will turn it into a giant argument instead of taking the criticism

No, because we actually have logical conversations here. On Reddit it's just people using whatever they can to make the other person look bad.

I think people deserve to be told they're idiots when they act like idiots tbh, whether it's via dislikes, or some kind of rating system or what-have-you.

 

But I assume people that are disliked on this forum will be butthurt when they realize many people don't like them and think they're idiots.

I like button is a bad idea, I think it would create a lot of arguements and if I see it implimented then I'm going to seriously consider leaving LTT.

Too negative. If it is so bad that it needs a dislike, you probably should just report them. If you disagree with their opinion then that doesn't mean that they are wrong and deserve to be disliked. Just ignore, quote, or report.
