On Desk Storage / Organization (Help)

I'm slowly merging into the world of 'adult hood' and I want to make sure I handle my finances responsibly.

One of my goals doing so, is keeping track of receipts and any government paper work I have in an organized manner.

I'm looking for an easy way to keep track of physical copies of papers of various sizes, sectioned in different ways.

I'll be storing this ON my desk, so compact is beneficial. As for the price, keep it reasonable. (1000$ No. 100$ Yes.)

Maybe get a scanner and have it stored on your computer?

Or a bin with a butt-ton of manilla folders.

Do you mean something like a letter tray?

That's how I organize important papers.

You could also be scanning the papers to your computer.

My sister just uses in / out trays.

 

They do have single drawer filing cabinets in case you were unaware and have the room on your desk.

I use a vertical file and manilla folders.  But then I have several projects that I look after.  Maybe an accordion file will be good for starting out.

Since folders are ancient way to organize everything, all shelves have built so that they fit just like that. I have one shelf just for folders.
