to be fair, it wasn't a YouTube beggar but instead an Instagram begger and they established pretty explicitly that it's never going to happen again.

I will say I think they probably could have done slightly fewer clues though probably since it is pretty obvious that it's was hidden in Bucharest. Not being Romanian I would need to do a bit more  google fu but like the mention of something that France has but is older and saying arch makes it obvious that one of the clues would be the Roman victory arch there.

Yeah, like I know MrBeast CONSTANTLY gets asked in public if they can have "ten thousand dollars" as if he's a walking ATM just handing out money. I expect all that will happen in Linus's is more people in the comments will beg for "free PC because I need it for school!!".

Let em, he did specifically state in the video "Anyone who does this anymore can be shadow banned by the community team, and they've been encouraged to do so."

So, it may happen, but very quickly will stop happening, cuz they can't message or comment anymore.

He picked the least aggressive sentenced but still begging one out of already a crazy number that have already asked his social media.

Linus did say "Anyone that does this now will be message banned from said social media."

IMO he made this video to do one person but also made it so that he can say hey don't be crazy to our social media.

 

But yeah I agree this is stupid no one is going to listen linus, its probably the most dumb thing I have seen.

ROG rig reboot was a series that was good because contestants had to get creative to make a pitch to get to the point. not beg.

Not from Romania, but from a neighbouring country, your guess looks spot on!
You can even see the Bucharest Nord locker room's floor reflection in the LTT video (it has highly specific floor tile)

I knew this video was coming from watching the WAN show, but after seeing "I did a thing" reference it in a somewhat recent video, I thought this would be more of a direct reference to what bobby fingers does on his youtube channel. Was even disappointed after ctrl-Fing some youtube comments and seeing no mention.

 

It's a great youtube channel, I'd suggest watching at least one of his videos.

I thought it was entertaining. Love the videos where they intentionally and actively sass someone through the camera. Generally feels like the team are having fun doing it. Like all the digs at Dbrand being stupid during the Illuminati build. I'm sure it will increase the beggars, but if the team do start banning anyone who does so, it should lower the overall number fairly quickly. And we got a nice video out of the situation too.

Just as others have said, I think this is likely to increase the number of spam they get. Clearly it's worth it.

 

With that said, I think if they made it a yearly scavenger hunt in a similar manner in different location around the world, I think it could be kind of fun.

But without giving a head start to anyone it might actually become a race to get to it. And that may be problematic where money is involved.
