how to buy crysis

OhYou_

I just want the regular 2007 version of crysis and not have to buy a dvd and have it in to play it and all that.
Can I just buy the steam game (not the remastered), download it on one pc, and then copy the files to a different pc that doesnt run steam anymore and play it there? Or is there some kind of drm

You would have to install steam on that the PC that you will be running Crysis on if you buy it on steam.

You can go through family share but you still need steam.

The Original game is also availible on GOG:

Afaik the only version still available for sale on Steam is the remastered version. Not quite sure why you'd need to copy it to another PC first to play it?

Could buy it on GOG though? https://www.gog.com/en/game/crysis

According to GOG themselves you dont need GOG launcher to play any game 🙂

GOG Is owned by The Witcher developers so its a safe website to purchase games.

How did I never know GOG was owned by CD Projekt. I guess you learn something new everyday.

It shouldn't, no. And stuff on GOG is generally DRM free to boot.

This is correct. GOG is known as the DRM-free platform.

Ouch.... 4 hours? I bought a copy through GOG too. No issues with it. But I also downloaded it in the time it takes to get a hot pocket. Fiber for the win! Enjoy the game, it's still a fun one

Oh I've played through it before, using a pirated copy, I just cant trust that stuff anymore since cryptolocker went big. Like I dont want to have to think about it when putting the box on a network. My time is worth more than $5 to verify that there is no malware and still without original code to compare against, and a 7GB game, nah

Well the CD key would then be obtainable by whatever means OP wishes but getting the game wouldn't be a problem.

i wonder if that would even work though, many old drm methods don't really work on win 10 so typically keys don't work either.

seems gog is pretty much the only way to play it legally.

afaik crysis predates keys and drm. the game simply verifies the cd is in the drive to play it.
there are cracks to do no cd but still the problem is now im downloading off archive.org blindly and just trusting it isnt malware

You'd need the key to install it IIRC... I have a disk copy.

Regardless, seems like you have it figured out.

Maybe there is no DRM on it. Not even sure of that.

But what i know is that DRM was a thing back in the 80's lol

why would you run crysis on era adequate hardware?  the whole point of living in the future is that you can run it all cranked up at like 300fps!!!
