On RAW Performance, Ryzen 7 5700X3D or Ryzen 5 7500F? I have seen benchmark charts and some of them are saying the it is bullshit that the Ryzen 5 7500F is gaining better FPS than the 5700X3D-5800X3D, that the video is rigged. But then again, in raw performance (not in upgradeability path) or in 1% low, which is better?

In raw compute, 7500f has the edge in single core performance. Similar multicore. That being said, for gaming, one has the option for later upgradability, the other does not. We're nearly 4 months into 2024, don't buy AM4 new.

It's a beast for the price. Get it and then you can always upgrade later. Ryzen 9000 series will be compatible with the motherboard. Edit: get a decent B650 board and you'll be fine for a long time.

The commenter on that video is just wrong. The 5800X3D and 7600X or 7900X perform almost identically when considering performance across a wide range of games. The 7500F is a bit slower, but so is the 5700X3D. They should have comparable performance.

Its certainly interesting, given its not even a fair fight as they are limiting the 7500F with slower RAM than anyone should be getting for that CPU, in order to make it as Apples to Apples as possible.  But they do not mention RAM timings which can play a big part in offsetting slower RAM.

 

They also do not mention if using PBO and given the 7500F is an ASUS board, they are also prone to use more aggressive defaults.  So it could be the 5800X3D is running to spec and the 7500F is not.

 

I'd also argue the 0.1% lows are important, as if the 1% lows are so high then a sudden HUGE drop even 0.1% of the time is going to be extremely annoying.  I'd prefer a lower average fps over huge drops 0.1% of the time any day.
