This is a crack right?

Bro is buying a laptop and saw a Surface for sale for a good price. However, in the description it states scratch but from what he shown me it looks a crack. He says he can't feel it but regardless it doesn't looks a scratch.

Ask him to send a video of it powered on.

Yeah waiting for tomorrow as he did send a video and it was poor, but am I wrong as I'm talking to him and saying this isn't a scratch the seller says.

the fact it extends from bottom left to top right. I mean how can you scratch a screen like that?

Length has nothing to do with whether it's a crack or a scratch.

If it can't be felt, that would have me a bit worried since that means it's most likely not on the protective layer of the screen.

I'm not actually trying to be as grumpy as it seems.

I will find your mentions of Ikea or Gnome and I will /s post.

I'm telling him not to buy it regardless of video unless it was really cheap

Looks greatly cracked to me

Also what specs is it?

Like unless it's a surface with AT LEAST 8gb of ram and an 8th gen intel chip DO NOT get it. 4gb of ram makes them unusably slow and not being a 8th gen chip or newer means a ULTRA SLOW dual core. Like these suck terribly.

Not that it matters unless it's disgustingly cheap. I be worried the LCD would fail and crack looks distracting. I mean anytime else have experience using laptops with cracks?. I know it's common with phones, see so many owners using cracked screen  phones

Just judging based off how the light catches it I'm also going to say that's a crack. It probably isn't anything serious though, modern displays have gotten pretty damn good at handling cracks, especially when it comes to the digitizer (just look at all the beat to shit iPhones you see on a daily basis).

Oh we have the latitude not surfaces at work. Plenty cracked nobody wants em because its painfully visible even with small ones.

The lcd behind the glass is probably fine tho.

Whats the usecase btw? 8gb of ram is the minimum for just using a laptop for basic stuff like office work and web

Browsing , and watching media.

Oh yeah nah this thing is gonna suck for that with a crack like that 😛

Just rotate a cracked phone or tablet. Cracks in the length of the screen show WAY more than when they go from top to bottom due to the way we view content and also how everything in a ui is horizontal focused

I told him I buy off from him if everything the seller said was correct, cmon $58 is a steal. Or is it literally stolen hahahaha. But no guy seems like a legit seller has other stuff, but yeah need to check if the bios is locked and do the family tech stuff

Seems like a decent bargain, checked it over and cycle count was 150, design capacity 45,000, full charge capacity 38,000

Keyboard works fine, bit grubby with some dings and dents but after cleaning it up for him looks nicer than it did before.

Cracked screen doesn't seem too bad, screen on you can hardly notice it which was quite surprising. Only when it's really dark when you can view it.

Its a crack, not a scratch. Trust me its a crack. I work for a company that deals with glass, its a crack.

Take a pass on that device.
