Stay with 750D or go to Case Labs Merlin SM8

So right now i have a 750D which i have modded a little (Build Log) but i know its going to be a little cramped when i watercool it. If i got the Merlin SM8 i would stick with it for a while however it would delay my watercooling... Maybe? I don't know how much money ill be taking in this year since i dont have a during school job however in a few months i will be getting a car. I plan to make around $3000 from my minimum wage job and at the most really want to stay under $1000. I could fit watercooling into this budget but not the case and watercooling.   

 

 

Which would you go with?

The 750D is pretty good for water cooling as long as you don't make the mistake of buying 60mm thick rads for the top. Check out my build log to see what I'm talking about

I would do the Merlin, but you can mod the 750D (not near the quality) to have almost the same internals.

I saw caselabs, and I immediately thought "overpriced," but that's surprisingly reasonable based on the stuff from them I've seen.

i know what your comparo was for, the case value-wise is three corsair 750D

cases. so if you already have something that supports your needs, do you

really need to spend three times more to do relatively the same thing?

actual gain is running a 480/360 radiator support in the SM8 over 360/240

radiator support in the 750D.

 

the only real actual gain in space is the width, length is a little over 3/4" and

height almost .50" with the width almost 2".

750D - 21.5"(L) x 9.25"(W) x 22"(H)

SM8 - 22.38"(L) x 11.18"(W) x 22.44"(H)

Enthoo Primo - 23.62"(L) x 9.84"(W) x 25.59"(H)

Try being in Australia when shipping ends up costing as much as the case! There have been a few guys that have imported them and just been whooped by shipping, but they are amazing cases, and for most people, will never need to be upgraded.

 

OP - can you sell your 750D to a friend to cover a portion of the cost of getting an Enthloo Primo? They are a great option, although they are heavy steel cases, they are made for WC.

Try being in Australia when shipping ends up costing as much as the case! There have been a few guys that have imported them and just been whooped by shipping, but they are amazing cases, and for most people, will never need to be upgraded.

im getting a SM8 soon from caselabs and the shipping for the case and an additional 120.2 front rad and the shipping is only $152 which is pretty cheap for FedEx

That looks like a TH10. The TX10 is a lot bigger, Stren from OCN and ExtremeRigs.net has a nice comparison set of several cases including the 900D and the TX10.

You know what - I think you are right They need to add more variations to their model names...

 

Regardless, I bought it 2nd or 3rd hand, and it had not lost any value in Australia, as opposed to the 800D's that were selling for $100 when they were still closer to $300 retail

I've only ever experienced a case lab one and it's not mine. I just love the way their build looks and their quality. IMO if money is no object then yeah but I say just make do with your 750D.

 

buying a caselab and shipping it here would be the price of a case lab + 2 more of the same model.

actually I'd say stick wit ha 750D, then get your car hey you can rock with a chick while on a car and you can't do it on a 750D nor the caselab one.
