Genuine Question, should we expect Gamers Nexus to publish a correction now that the LTT Apology video has shown that the version of events that Steve presented weren't entirely accurate?

Part of the reason for Steve's video was aimed at the fact the LTT are consistently making mistakes, and he was absolutely right to say this.

But there's now an obvious issue that, whether intentionally or not, he hasn't portrayed the Billet Labs situation entirely accurately.

The whole situation about Billet Labs sending the block over fully intending for LMG to keep it, has been completely left out when, in my view, its a key point in understanding why it could have ended up in the "available to auction" pile in the first place

To be clear, I don't blame Steve for this entirely. Some of the blame has to land at Billet Labs' feet because they don't appear to have given him all the information (they seem to be very cagey releasing any evidence of correspondence with LMG)

In addition to this it seems that the second video, framing it as if LMG only responded due to the outcry from the first video was also incorrect as the apology video shows Colton had already made the decision to offer reimbursement for the block, he just screwed up sending the email.

Obviously this links back to some of the criticism Steve has faced for choosing not to reach out to LMG for comment in the first place. Some of this could been avoided had he done so.

So back to the original question:

Would it be right for them to publish a correction of these facts, even if it doesn't materially change Steve's conclusion on the situation?

It would be pointless to make any corrections or updates at this point.   What's done is done.

Bro, Linus said he wouldn't spend $500 to retest something, if it wouldn't change the conclusion lol.

Even if the exact semantics about WHY it wasn't returned are slightly different, Steve's point about it being straight up incompetence / lack of care / lack of time for checking their work remains 100% accurate.

No. This and all the pedantry surrounding Steve's methods are all obvious attempts to cast some shade on GN's reporting in a crude and obvious move to make them out to look bad compared to LMG. How sad that people can't just accept that LMG's operations are the problem at hand.

We can agree that LMG has issues AND have the opinion that Steve could have handled it different at the same time.  Just sayin.

No.

If we pull from Linus' playbook: whether or not the details are entirely accurate - the conclusion does not change.

I don't think there's anything in the original post that say's LMG's operations aren't a problem? They most certainly are.

The point of the question was to gauge how much actual interest there is for channels to go back and make corrections when an error is made.

It's obviously been a crazy couple of days, there's been much more serious allegations brought up which are now, rightly, are overshadowing the original starting point of all this. I was just curious what sentiment was on this specific area

Judging by the replies so far, there's not as much demand for it as the last few days have made out.

For what it's worth. I personally don't think Steve should do it either. Serves no purpose at this point

This whole he should've reached out/real journalism thingy is the biggest cope that I've seen, lmao

Yeah its ridiculous nitpicking that LMG and Linus started just to gaslight people while throwing shade at GN.
