Is it just me or does every LTT video include sexual innuendos?

I done judge too hard, she was really young in the video (under 20 I think?) and I can say that most 16-22 year olds will say the most cringe things.  How do I know this?  I was once that age and also said cringy and stupid things I thought were funny.

It came up on a live stream a while ago, when one of the merch messages asked about the increase in references to 69 and 420. Linus laughed it off and said it's always been that way.

 

It may just be that I'm getting older (though I'm only a few years older than Linus), but honestly I just roll my eyes or cringe at the constant references to them. Occasionally as a meme maybe ($69.99 Screwdriver), but all the time is just a bit tiresome.

The very logical reason for having immature sexual innuendos in the videos is because of the target audience, when your target audience is composed of 99% male immature man child millennials and incel teenagers, i mean even some of the staff are Tate supporters, you can expect to have immature potty and sex humor in the videos, because that is the current intellectual and maturity level, of high school bros.

Not only that but even this culture is present in the workspace of LTT. I do not find a reasonable explanation of a 100 million dollar investment of a lab that spits out fake and garbage data which is shown in tech reviews, other than just Linus flexing his ego because he can..

While it's the laziness at their efforts to innuendo that is more offensive than what they say or do,  for me it's those open-mouthed thumbnails so often used to attract the viewer. They appear as a grotesque parody of an invitation to fellatio. Perhaps this is an entirely appropriate visual language but it does raise the question as old as the profession; whom is more degraded, the whore or the client...?

I feel like on camera, innuendo isn't much of an issue. It isn't a huge issue off camera, as long as your coworkers are comfortable with it. The difference is that Madison wasn't and according to her thread, made that fairly clear. That's where the issue lies. The behavior continued after it was clear it wasn't okay. Simply making sexual innuendo for the benefit of the audience watching a video is very different from creating a hostile workplace through systematic sexual harassment.

LTT made a brilliant april fool video with a Tate spoof section, it's really well written and nails the Guru persona of Tate. I'm deep in the "LTT lore" and I really appreciated all the references they stuffed in this video. The writers did a really great job making a script this tight. (Looking at the thumbnail, it could have very well have been the apology video for the GN drama, who would have guessed!)

LMG has problems with accuracy, not with the entertainment side of their businness, LMG has nailed entertainment! And that include using sexual innuendos. Have you seen page 69 of the meltdown topic?

Also Madison used innuendos in LTT video. It's something that is used in entertainment, like it or not.

It's used in the apology video as well, and it's a touch to keep the video in the spirit of LMG, they didn't want a video that was too corporate and sterile 

Or every time there is a 69 or a 42 anywhere, there is an obligatory "nice" comment in a video.

I had no idea either, I asked google, and google says 420 is a weed reference.
 

I suspect it's the entertainment industry "standard" that demands this kind of jokes, and it's something LMG shouldn't fix IMO.

It almost seems like this topic was set up as a honey trap for prudes and wokists who demand that the world share their morals and do what they want. The funniest bit is actually that liking innuendo apparently makes you an incel and Tate supporter. I guess that I know a lot of women who are incels and Tate supporters then.

I think that it's more that a lot of people like that kind of humor.

 

I don't see how it is 'demanded' when Hardware Unboxed does quite well with pretty dry presentations (but then again, they don't have to lean on humor to the extent that LTT needs to, because Hardware Unboxed actually tends to test properly). And Gamer's Nexus has a very different kind of humor.

 

Of course, to be successful you do need something to entertain people whether that is good information or humor.

Just because it's a joke in a video doesn't make it ok.

I agree, but I dont think sex jokes are always necessary. You can be goofy and funny (I really enjoy his Dad jokes) without having everything be innuendo. It feels less like an organic joke and more "LTT audience clap when 69," at least as a viewer.
