One man developed FPS game over the summer!

One dev to rule them all!

A Chinese university student sat down last summer and developed a first person shooter called War Storm using the Unreal 3 engine.. Yes, done in one summer! Although buggy, it compares to games like Homefront and C.o.D. The game has chinese and english text but all dialogue and voice acting is in English! Anyone hiring?

Looks pretty cool and knowing it came from a one man team indie dev makes me want to play it even more. I'm downloading the beta right now, I find the 30 minute download time pretty funny for a file less than a gig in size.

so many stolen assets lol

Is it really stolen assets? Maybe he learnt from Infinity Ward and did the good ol' copy and paste tactic. I mean, that is what they do isn't it?

The difference is Infinity Ward was copying their own work

You do realize that it isnt anything amazing to create something like that in one summer with

UDK and assets which are ready to go.

But hey,  Good for him :) He maybe learnt something on the way, and as i can see, he get attention, so probably easier for him to get a job :)

Pretty impressive, very impressive in fact for a one man summer project!

If it wasn't for the for the fact that it's missing the distasteful FMV hyperviolence porn then I'd think it's another CoD.

I think we need more of these. Make the moneygrubbers at EA and DICE see that great games can come at us from anywhere.

Hurry up Bobby, hire him for Activision so he can be your 1 man team for a 4th cycle of Call of Duty! Nice way to earn 500 million dollars over the summer!

I actually think some Chinese developed games should start including original assets made to look close to being stolen just so they can keep that strange Chinese replica uncanny valley effect  :D
