Lens recommendations for a Canon T7i

I'm wanting to take my Canon T7i with me when my wife and I go on Jet Ski adventures, We have just been using our phones but the quality is fine enough to have as a background but not to print. I picked up a canon T7i a couple of years ago and experience wise I can change the settings but mostly leave it on auto. It came with a 18-55mm lens, i'm hoping to get some input on what lens I should be using. We mostly like to take pictures of the landscape and I would also like to be able to take pictures of us on the ski. I've done it with the lens that it came with but it doesn't get much of our surroundings. I would like one that still works well for video and hopefully is reasonably priced... I'm still mentally recovering from the cost of my new ski...

50mm is generally a good starting point for portraits. lower values will "zoom out" and higher numbers will "zoom in". The most budget friendly option for different focal lengths is of course your legs. I would say that unless you want something specific like a fisheye lens, your best bet is to practice with the lens you have. 18-55 is a great starting point for your use case and once again getting up close or backing away is not only budget friendly but also a much easier tool to carry around.

I'm fairly open on price, I would prefer to stay within a few hundred dollars considering it's going to be bounced around on a ski

If I'm reading it right, the 18-55 isn't going wide enough? If so, Canon do a 10-18 which is relatively cheap and could be useful for landscape also.

Massive Thank You! Canon had a sale on that lens and I was able to grab one for $150. I haven't gotten a chance to try it out on the lake yet but so far the couple of photos i've taken with it have been great and the FOV is exactly what I was looking for. Thanks again for all the help!
