Why my friend i5 13500 can run memory above 4800Mhz?

My friend recently build an intel i5 13500 and i was surprised by the memory speed, as stated in intel ark web for i5 13500 it says memory frequency is up to 4800mhz for DDR5, yet my friend can run his memory on 5600mhz like in this screenshoot from cpu z, isnt non intel k processor cant overclock memory? or i didnt know something new?

Nope, the non-K chips are fully unlocked for memory overclocking assuming the board supports it. They aren't good at it since they have locked VCCSA and therefore can't really get much above ~6200MT/s on 4 DIMM boards and ~6800MT/s on 2 DIMM boards, but it is fully supported to go to something like 5600MT/s on these chips.

You can run DRAM above spec on non-K CPUs in the last few gens. You were not supposed/able to do so with older ones.

For as long as I can remember you can can overclock memory on Z chipset motherboards even with non-K CPUs. It is a chipset function, not a CPU function.

With Rocket Lake, I noticed you can overclock memory on B560 chipset mobos too. I don't know exactly when they introduced this since I don't often get non-Z mobos.

Looking at your screenshot, the ram is running at 2800mhz not 5600mhz. (Double Data Rate)

The memory controller is stating 1400mhz which when doubled is 2800mhz

That being said, the motherboard supports upto 7200mhz ram.
