It was likely only uploaded because they needed some support with a server software, and I'm guessing the video was then sent to a tech support person as it was quite a long video which probably won't fit in an email.

they would have just deleted it because they arent dumb

Linus always said the forum was a backup in case youtube disappeared...

Despite being tech-savvy, anyone can get hacked, as recent events have shown. That’s why I stopped using LastPass and now host my own instance of Bitwarden at home. Although, the fact that they were hacked may not be related to the use of a password manager at all.

I think the Scam works by phishing. Someone checking an email, then whoever sent it sends the bots to ping the API for changes for the channel it now has access to.

I could only wish I had enough resources to include ltt channels on my youtube mirror (ofc its not a full mirror, just a tiny part of it). i am lucky that i was able to just fire a yt-dlp script to pull some of them. learn to use those tools boys

I'm going to assume there is an automated script that did this but one of the scam videos is being advertised here:

no it's LMG's script that allows you to see the latest video

YT can restore even deleted video's so no worries there tbh. But yeah they are streaming that 20(?) minute Elon Musk Bitcoin video that has been making the rounds on hacked channels.

I don't know why Youtube hasn't put in an algorithm to automatically detect (copyright should detect it in like 3 seconds), unlist and then keep the channel online long enough to actually get some useful information to stop them.  Its the same Modus Operandi, over and over again, they really should have this on lock down with algorithms by now.
