Is it worth to buy a custom 8 Pin EPS cable?

Hi P
Go to solution Solved by RONOTHAN##,

Usually they come as part as a bundle with other cables (I just buy the kits, never do any of the more custom wor for them), so might as well use it and wire it up, but I personally wouldn't buy one unless I needed one.

If you're doing full custom sleeved cables though (I'm talking things like the Cable Mod configurator or doing it by hand), you probably care enough about aesthetics that it would matter to you, even if it's only slightly visible.

You know, the one that goes at the top for the CPU.

I think it's barely visible, what do you guys think?

It'll be for looks and looks only, if it's barely visible... my answer would be no. Either way it would be a no from me anyway... I don't care that much about blinging my stuff. Well, I do but higher echelon stuff, so it tends to look good as-is. 😛

The gaming PCs in my house all have custom GPU power cables, that's a no-brainer,  it's right out in front, very visible. For the EPS cable, that you might see 1" of wiring, no, not worth it in my opinion. Honestly, I can't see mine around the cooler anyways, unless I really look. I would only do stuff that you can really see. I'd put that money to use somewhere else.

For even as small as it is, if I didn’t see it in there I would immediately notice a different color cable.

Considering just a set of cable extensions costs like $15 you might as well.

Ive got a few extensions brands, can barely see the 8+4 in any of my builds but it as the kit comes with it all. Being black it doesnt bother me to use it or not. If going colored, I'd get it just incase you notice more than you think and can easily look into your case. And having all matching cables is worth it, especially getting a kit.

some case have holes for the cables so you might only see like a inch or 2 of the cable. people spend hundreds on custom cables just for that inch... thow there are some builds that try and make it at list visible but the top cpu power is till vary short. i have a lot of big case and stander psu cables dont work so a cheap $25 set works good for me and they sell em in orange... (i may or may not be making argb cpu power cables...)

not only that most psu even some in the $30 range has black psu cables witch looks good any way imo
