What brand socks does Linus wear?

kibbled

I am having problems buying a good pair of socks. I have bought a number of different pairs on Amazon and I feel that they get holes within 10 washes. I am looking for basic white crew socks with extra padding on the soles. I do wear the socks with slippers when I am in the house. e

It's one thing to ask for recommendations on socks but bit weird to want to know what Linus wears. Not sure why Linus' socks would be any better than anybody else's.

I would recommend Darn Tough. They're pretty affordable and they last a really long time.

Something like these > https://www.amazon.com/Debra-Weitzner-Non-Binding-Loose-Sock/dp/B0716CRZBH

Which I wear, which have padding to prevent slips.

Thanks

The reason why I ask is that I know he talked about it on a LAN show. I figure anyone who wears socks with sandals in Canada in the middle of winter knows what brands makes good socks.

As a Canadian, Darn Tough and Icebreaker merino wool are my go-to socks for winter time.

Damn, this is actually somewhat relevant... the stockpile of socks I've had for about 6-7 years now has been developing holes en masse and I'm not looking to go to Uniqlo exclusively for replacements.

Okay, but how long (assuming you have personal experience)?

Also, maybe it's just a lifestyle shift, but looking on the site one pair would cost, what, $25? Do people actually invest this much into a stockpile of socks? I guess it's worth it if it lasts literal decades but I somehow have a penchant for shredding clothing that is normally pretty durable, apparently.

It's entirely possible that I misinterpreted/misread your topic and/or question. This happens more often than I care to admit. Apologies in advance.

$30 for a pair of socks?! Good God. I simply bought 2 packs of 12 black Nike socks. That was probably 15 years ago. Still have a good chunk of them, and because there's so many the rotation is greater and the wear is far less. Also cost less than one pair of these.

Going from a car to a building isn't really that hard, I know people that wear shorts in -40.

Vancouver isn't really cold during the winter, so I wouldn't put much weight into the "winter" part of that statement 😂

I didn't pay anywhere near $25 for them. I bought them from the department store, I can't remember how much I paid but they weren't more expensive than any others.

They're $12 AUD (about $8.50 USD) for a 2-pack

Maybe the ones in Australia are different/made under licence or something, or their website is just really high prices.

I bought them 6 or 7 years ago as work socks and they're still good. I don't remember if I've ever thrown a pair out but I've definitely bought more over the years.

I can't believe you people pay money for socks, I just use discarded shopping bags.  Imagine paying money for nice things what a joke
