International price comparison (help needed)

threee6

i did concider a GPU as the price comparison but with so many companys selling them XFX, ASUS, Saphire and so on it would be a pain to pick one that was available everywhere.

Yeh just realy saying that is is not simple to compare countrys prices by using one component.

Well GPU's would be the only crazy bit of data to get and we could just aim for refrence cards. I think its worth doing, for science!!

I think Asus is a good brand to pick.

Vengance RAM is probably an easy one for memory.

Maybe Seasonic PSU?

I dont think we should be using one brand for every part either.

EDIT:

I was just trying to find some vengance memory and like no one in NZ even carries it anymore. They have all moved to Dominator. :(

Asus MoBo as well then?

Samsung SSD?

I personally think a fractal case would be interesting, just because I can't think of anything else computer related to come out of Northern Europe

The 840 Pro would be the SSD. Every one knows what that is and can likely get their hands on it.

Asus mobo would be the most logical, some sort of Z77. Like the Sabertooth.

Fractal case. :) Im not too clued up on those so someone else suggest one.

We could do a nice system, not top tier, just nice. I hope folks are up for it tho...

A Z77 might be a little stupid if we're going for an AMD CPU, but there's a 990FX Sabertooth board which seems very nice.

So if people are up for it:

  1. AMD FX-8350
  2. ASUS Sabertooth 990FX
  3. Samsung 840 Pro 256GB
  4. Fractal Design Define R4
  5. Corsair Dominator Platinum 8GB (1866MHz perhaps?)
  6. ASUS GTX 670 Direct CUII (changed from EVGA)
  7. PSU, any suggestions? I haven't seen too many seasonic units in my country, so something like a Corsair AX 760? (although it messes up the nice variety of manufacturers)
  8. Noctua NH-D14 for CPU Cooling?

So pricing in Norway, (NOK) USD, in the order of the list

  1. (1395) 240.7
  2. (1499) 258.6
  3. (1699) 293.1
  4. (719) 124
  5. (899) 155.1
  6. (3199) 551.9
  7. (1349) 232.7
  8. (768) 132.5

Total: (1247) 1988.7

Any takers?
