You can't install Windows Ransomware Protection, that comes bundled with the preinstalled Windows Defender AFAIK. You might have installed a ransomware.

So if I understand this correctly.. no, this is not okay. It's likely a ransomware encrypting your files.

If the ransomware has already encrypted your files, there aren't much options you have at this point really.

I am getting pretty fucking sick and tired of the "watch something else" responses. It's such a cop out answer because you could say that about basically anything, and it doesn't address the actual complaints. People use it as some kind of card they pull when they can't actually respond to the criticism raised but they still feel like they need to defend some company/person. If you don't like this thread then stop reading it. See how stupid it is? It's basically like telling someone "shut the fuck up". It's not a clever responsive, it doesn't address anything said, and it is rude.

Yeah, "Windows Ransomware Protection" is not a thing you "install" I don't think. Please clarify your post because right now this sounds rather ominous.

Corps aren't your friends. "Bottleneck calculators" are BS. Only suckers buy based on brand. It's your PC, do what makes you happy.  If your build meets your needs, you don't need anyone else to "rate" it for you. And talking about being part of a "master race" is cringe. Watch this space for further truths people need to hear.

And that is how you get actual viruses unfortunately.

As said before thats not how it works.
Windows Defender will automatigly have ransomware protection UNLESS you turn it off.

And if you dont think thats enough protection, maybe stop putting dangerous software on your computer. (That would be step1 in keeping a computer clean)

(Step2 would be doing a course on computer management)

When i ask for more specs, don't expect me to know the answer!

Does it show up in your Add/Remove programs?  You can try remove it from there then run some programs like Malwarebytes to see if it can clean those files up.

If it is a well made malicious program, most likely not gonna solve anything.
IMO, The safest option if it is a malicious program is to do a clean reinstall at the very least & hope it doesn't leave kids on other drives/partitions as well.

You've enabled onedrive and syncing of your desktop to the cloud, the icons show the sync status.

Well, if you don't know what it means or how you did it, it's pointless.
