Alas, I have an matx motherboard while those cases are for mitx. Something like that for matx boards in steel/aluminum with some gamer attention to cooling potential would be amazing, though! Kinda like the upcoming Node 804, but not as double wide.

Big enough for a 165mm tall heatsink with all metal construction would be a nice thing for the line up. Can even call it the Cosmos Mini if it uses premium materials! :D

My bad. Read it as MITX. But let's not derail the thread much further. :) Feel free to PM with any requests or followup :)

Nvidia does phones now?

I can't help but think of the beginning of this right now

On topic: Green LEDs. I pretty much don't care for razer's stuff because of this.

I try my darndest not to! But what are some of your examples on that sentiment?

For example a fan that has false / modified / etc. dba noise volume or CFM rating.

Or "long life bearing" like many companies like to advertise basic sleeve bearing as.

Cant remember much exaples now, but even in tech world where you will most likely find enthusiasts, there are stupid ads or misleading/false info.

this thread >< and peoples fanboy/elitist/derogatory remarks about tech/brands

The artificial slowness that we get in technology just so they can ride the profit margins a little longer.

I was in my local store yesterday getting a new mouse mat and there was a curved 1080p smart tv, that was £300 more than the same size curved 4k smart tv ... WHAT THE FUCK is going on? Preying on peoples lack of knowledge to turn a buck - in a perfect world they should be making the best technlogy they can for the money, if the product is sub par in specs/build they should be priced accordingly

Like a lot of people have said, when something tries way too hard to look gamerish, it's a turnoff. But I also dislike cases that are just too simple, like they're modeled after the Monolith from 2001: A Space Odyssey. I know people here love the case, but I just think the Fractal Design R4 looks boring...

I've refrained from buying items like monitors because they were made of gloss plastic. I cannot stand gloss plastic because of how horribly it wears. No matter what you use to clean it you still get micro scratches.

I currently own:

4 Keyboard Brands - Razer, CoolerMaster, Corsair and Ducky.

4 Mice Brands - Razer, Corsair, CoolerMaster, Logitech

I've also owned many, many more brands, including multiple models of each of those brands. I enjoy each of them, some more than others. They all have their high points and low points - pros/cons.

Out of all of them, I find myself using Razer products more than the rest. They are no "better OR worse" than "the next guys". Each that I own are around the same price point, whether the keyboards or the mice.

I'm curious.. Why the Razer hate!? The only thing I can think of is the pricetag that Razer comes with.. But that shouldn't be enough to judge! I am not one to care about prices much - That's one area in life I am grateful in.

But, I do buy Razer due to the aesthetics mostly, as they perform the same as any other keyboard I've used, owned, or currently use.

Also keep in mind, and I delve into this a bit deeper below, but I am not one to buy due to a certain label or branding it has. I don't buy Razer because it has a 3-Headed Snake on it or says "You are now part of the Cult of Razer".

But anyways, pardon the rant. Onto the topic at hand..

• The thing I hate the most is when I like a product (of any kind) so much, and then realize it doesn't come in the color scheme that I need/want. This is a big pet peeve of mine. As an example - how good Noctua fans perform, but yet are so damn disgustingly ugly with a hint of "Wtf!".

• As mentioned above, another one of my pet peeves is shopping per brand... No, just no! It's just as easy a no-name brand manufactures a wonderful item that beats (in whatever ways) a well-known brand's item. The only thing here is, obviously, if the brand has never let you down, and you have zero complaints, it's more than okay to stick with who you trust. Just don't use this as the ONLY processes in eliminating competing items.

You might not care about the price tag but most others do, you can get better stuff for cheaper from other brands so people like me do not like razer much.

Yeah, I figured that's what it was.

Okay, just wanted some insight to the hate. :P

I'm like "damnit people, they aren't that bad! they work just like all my other brands, if not better!" so that's why I was curious.

The thing that really p....s me off is colours. Why oh why do parts manufacturers not make parts in different colours?! Classic example - mechanical keyboards. You can mostly only get blue switches with blue LEDs, reds with red/white LEDs, browns with white LEDs, etc. WHYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!????? Do they just not function without the accompanying LED colour? How difficult is it to integrate customer colour choice into the manufacturing process? I would have got brown switches but because there were none with a blue backlight I didn't want to, because then the keyboard wouldn't match my mouse.

This also cascades into other parts too. The only motherboard I know of that has colour variations is the ASUS Maximus VI Extreme, with a red one and a black one - but the black one is $50 more or something crazy like that. Unless the dyes for the plastic are chemically difficult to make/integrate into the product materials or are in limited supply, I don't understand why there aren't more choices when it comes to colour. The only thing that's easy to shop for is RAM because it's all the same and comes in lots of different colours. Is it a demand thing, that not many people will buy one particular colour? Just make less of it!

I want to be able to build a neon pink themed PC if I want to. Why don't I have this choice? I would love to do a proper green themed PC too, but there aren't any dark green motherboards either... :(

Thanks for the direct examples :)

I'm one of the most aggressive people about specifications in the company here. I spent a week building standard specification templates for all of our product lines so that we don't have people asking things that I think are basic specs. It's just a matter of getting the rest of the departments to follow through, which is proving much more difficult (slowly, and mostly surely)

I will say, though, any specification we have on fans are legit specs. Lying is ridiculously bad for business. At the same time, though, a thousand and one things can change how something performs in your machine vs in a testing lab where specs are taken. For example, your case or how your fan is attached may be echoing or adding to the overall fan vibrations (aka a panel is vibrating as well with the fan) causing more noise than just the fan alone.

Also, you do have to note, there are many people buying computer fans who aren't necessarily deeply involved enthusiasts. Think of all the new people, or those who just need a replacement CPU cooler for something, or are using a computer fan for a cabinet, or using a PSU for their pool pump filtration unit (yep, it happens!). It's crazy how many people out there aren't deeply involved, but will still buy something.

bad linux compability.

For hardware yes but it's even more infuriating on the software side when you keep hearing about how "difficult" it would be to port for Linux. Now if you want to reap the "advantages" of Microsoft's proprietary software platform that's fine, but don't go telling me it's now too difficult to port your stupid fucking game.

Lying by omission it's also important. Leaving out the part that you achieved certain specs on very specific circumstances that might as well be called controlled lab conditions it's just as bad given that you should know what customers can do wrong. But do we ever get to see an average of what a normal joe without a perfect installation would get along with your perfect set up? In many cases not really. That's why it feels like the numbers are always doctored.

When we run tests on things here in the US office, it's not a specialized fancy lab or anything. We build a rig, and test/measure/etc what we need. It's not a matter of omission, it's just outright impossible to get every. single. stipulation from the get-go. But that's why we have customer support services (for free!) to help you out (and help us out, too!)

I think it depends on the item. The one Razer product I own is a Razer Naga MMO gaming mouse, but when I made that my laptop mouse, I decided to buy a Logitech G600 for my desktop. They're both pretty similar, and probably the go-to mice if you want something with a slightly ludicrous number of side buttons. Still, the price isn't that different.

It's kinda funny though, the one Razer item I do think is pretty damn overpriced - Razer Blade 2014 - is the one Razer item people on this forum seem to love...
