People know I'm either drunk or angry when I stop using capitalization, commas, and periods.

I'm not actually trying to be as grumpy as it seems.

I will find your mentions of Ikea or Gnome and I will /s post.

I very rarely write my own name in conversations with people who already know me, unless I'm signing off an email - but when I do, it's capitalised.

If I am talking about other people, I always capitalise their names. It's just respectful.

Thanks for reading all this by the way!

By the way, my desktop is a docked laptop. Get over it, No seriously, I have an exterrnal monitor, keyboard, mouse, headset, ethernet and cooling fans all connected. Using it feels no different to a desktop, it works for several hours if the power goes out, and disconnecting just a few cables gives me something I can take on the go. There's enough power for all games I play and it even copes with basic (and some not-so-basic) video editing. Give it a go - you might just love it.

Yes, always. When it comes to names, even in private text conversations, I capitalize names. This makes it easier on the reader of the text that I'm talking about someone and not bsomething, making them pay more attention when they read as it pertains to someone. (I made this part up, they never care... But I do)

Since I type most of my texts in Swiss German, which is basically diet German, I capitalize all nouns, not just proper ones, just like I would when writing proper German. And it's not like there are any rules for writing in Swiss German, it's just a dialect so anything goes. But I'm also one of the few people I know who do it this way. Most of my friends, family and acquaintances type all lower case, though I do have a few people in my contacts, my dad among them, who start out every conversation in proper German and whenever I reply in Swiss German they tend to switch over immediately.

Pretty much the same just with somewhat regular German.

As a native German speaker who grew up in both Germany and the US I also tend to write a lot of English nouns capitalized and often have to go through texts and fix it afterwards. But regardless your Name or any other Name is always capitalized and leaving it in lower case looks wrong and disrespectful (if it is someone else) or insecure (if it is your own name) imo.

Yeah I’m really weird, I usually use really informal writing, and a lot of random inconsistencies but Oxford comma never hides.
