Turning my PC ON is weird since today

WereCat

OK, not home right now, I may post video later.

In short.

- PC is OFF

- I press the power button

- PC starts up, fans start spinning, LED turns ON, etc... but just for a one or two seconds, then the PC turns OFF

- PC remains OFF for several seconds then turns ON by itself and appears to work normally

So my suspicion was RAM XMP, I thought its attempting to train the memory but everything seems fine after checking. I've been using PC for a whole day just fine but the turning ON is just weird suddenly, not sure what's going on with that.

So does it still happens when you disable any and all kinds of overclocking on all your components(CPU,GPU,RAM,infinityfabric)?

As silicon ages overclocks that used to be rocksolid will start to require more voltage.

What exactly did you do yesterday? Did you update the BIOS, maybe bumped the PC, or turned it off from the PSU? Did you do anything to the PC that could have affected something?

Have you tried booting with VR completely detached, and with a single monitor?

I only see your reply if you @ me.

my pc always does this, its nothing to worry about. different motherboards have different safefy checks etc. some power, on , off then back on. infact alot of pcs do this. also, sometimes if u reset ur cmos, or unplug ur pc, it can cause it to do this. I think its just a safety feature though.

Does it happen when you manually shut down your PC and quickly start it again?

Yes, it does.

Right now I run everything on stock except RAM with XMP.

I've updated BIOS about a month or two ago and haven't touched it since.

Before I've run CPU core stock with undervolting + FCLK OC with RAM OC.

Fully tested for stability before and after BIOS update.

Only change that could occur since yesterday is that if Windows updated when I wasn't at home and my dad was using the PC. But I don't know how that could cause this except if its somehow related to fTPM... not sure how that works.

It has never done this for over 2y except when applying new RAM OC, which is not the case this time.

By manually you mean by holding down the power button?

Haven't tried tbh, I'll let you know when I get home.

BTW, I have FastStartup disabled in W11.

How old is the PSU?

ps: hmm from the symptoms i think it could be PSU , but its a Superflower leadex II? Should definitely be good (although it should also still have warranty? So maybe worth a try?)

No just regular cold shutdown and boot.
