Is it ok to use my GTX 1050 without the fans connected?

Aldebaran93

So,like i said in the other thread i made,no matter what software i use,i can't lower the fan speed below 40% on my gtx 1050,and my brain simply can't tolerate the noise those fans make, especially when i'm not playing games (which is about 80-90% of the time) and i'm just browsing the web/watching youtube videos.
I've unplugged the fan connector, should i also remove the fans entirely so that the radiator won't melt the plastic frame?
Here are the temps with the fans unplugged after running the unigine valley benchmark and after playing Dark Souls for 10 minutes.
I'm not planning to use this gpu for a long time, just a few more months until prices for the 3060 ti/6700 xt come to msrp/below.

It'll protect itself, it'll just run like crap.

Maybe even pull the shroud off but leave the cooler then zip tie on a couple.  Need something smaller than 120. 80 or 92 or something. There are fanless 1050s but their coolers are gigantic.

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

Life is like a bowl of chocolates: there are all these little crinkly paper cups everywhere.

I wouldn’t run a GPU with no fan….

No, the plastic won’t melt, it’s all made for the GPU to get to ~100c without issue before anything would melt, but that isn’t going to be good for the card.

If it’s really that problematic, grab a 120 or 90mm case fan and zip tie it like others said. You need to get some airflow on that heatsink.
