A kinda weird question like this will raise more questions then answers right now.
Can you elaborate.
Why do you want one. Why do you need it.
Whats your budget (and location since not everything is available everywhere).

Have you considered the extra powerdraw a heavier fan might give? Hope you not planning on powering it directly of the motherboard.

And much more.

Β

Β

Β

edit Also closest i can come with a quick google is:

When i ask for more specs, don't expect me to know the answer!

Only reason to even have metal blades are for durability and i dont see any reason to make a metal bladed pc fan unless you intend on smacking it with a hammer or something

I don't want cheap plastic anymore. Bored of it. I want an all-around upgrade. Do you want plastic hubcaps on your car, or full metal wheels..? Metal is a higher quality material, with more shine, no static shock danger, and none of the environmental concerns of plastic.

Β

Budget = ~$100 per fan max.Β

Location = USA.

Β

I would assume metal fans can be just as light as plastic(al, mag, al-mag). It would be fine by me if they required a wall outlet plug, from a cable running out the case somehow, though I would not expect that's needed for a small material swap. I would think a 1000W PSU should be plenty(unless Watts don't matter here)?

Β

I have found 1 CPU fan so far, and 1 experimental one from 2015:

https://www.amazon.com/Profile-Aluminum-Structure-Connector-Internal/dp/B079RMM25W?th=1

I would suggest you first look into good plastic fans. like a proper Noctua or similar.

Also there is a reason they use plastic over metal. One isn't better then the other, just different.
But for computer fans plastic is better. Need less power to spin up a heavier blade set, thus less heat up. etc.

And that 2nd link is more then just aΒ  metal fan. Its an ingenious design that makes me wonder why its not on the market yet.
It uses some precise machining to not juts blow air, but also be part of the heatsink, due to heat-transfer if the surfaces are close enough.

Well, here I am, too, wondering where my metal fans are, and my dual/quad CPU consumer motherboards....!

Β

Linus made that wooden case build recently. He should've gone for all metal πŸ˜‰Β

Hahaha agreed, yeah why cant we have a quad CPU board and put a 16 core in each of those? πŸ˜„

Β

But tbh i dont care for metal fans, altho they would be really cool in a steampunk build with some chromed fans or whatever.
Im more interested in that kinetic engine concept. Making the fan part of the heatsink itself. A more efficient use of materials imho.

Β

But its very unlikely you will find any metal bladed PC fan. Closest i could come was a aluminium case. Still plastic blades (altho chrome painted).
Maybe thats a concession you're willing to make. Specially since i get the idea its more for looks. πŸ˜‰

https://www.titan-cd.com/en/product/TFD-X12025M12Z_AS.html

But i dont think that would cool any better then an ok normal plastic looking fan.

Is that not the same concept/execution as the other link? All metal = all parts transferring? Or maybe I'm not seeing it.

No.

That Thermaltake is just a regular fan inside a heatsink.

That other one the fan is the heatsink.

a good quality plastic fan should last 20 years just saying. all servers use plastic fans. why because it cheap...

I have dyslexia plz be kind to me. dont like my post dont read it or respond thx

also i edit post alot because you no why...

The fan is aluminum, so it should still be having heat transfer effect? Or what am I missing lol. 2 pieces VS 1 piece. I would assume the fan is close enough to still have good heat transfer, but maybe not as much as the 1 piece, hm.

Not just that, its strong and flexible. Also its light enough to make a huge difference in motor power needed (specialy startup).
Easier to colour, easier to make. Less loss since it can be molded. etc.

I would higly recommend wathcing the video, it explains a lot.
In the Thermaltake there is no heat transfer from the CPU to the blades.
On the other one, the fan is the heatsink, so there is heat transfer to the fan and thus also the blades making for a way more effecient transfer and use of material.

Cus then i can sell you some 100 buck fans, they not metal tho, jsut really good. πŸ˜„

It's the cheap option, and the expensive option, because there is no other option. Yet, I guess.

I mean, yeah, I'm going with Delta 252 CFM's, if nobody can come up with any metal/glass/wood/carbon fiber fans in 2022 yet lol.

No its not beautiful because it performs like complete trash xD

Β

I am not the type that gives a crap about aesthetics cause id rather have performance for the cheapest price possible, heck i dont even bother with a case just because im lazy and swapping parts is easy w/o a case, literally just chuck it on a carboard box and call it a day.

It's been available for a while. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.newegg.com/amp/thermaltake-engine-27-cl-p032-ca06sl-a/p/N82E16835106417

It hasn't been popular. While it's functional, it's not better than other similarly sized and often cheaper alternatives. https://www.gamersnexus.net/hwreviews/2806-thermaltake-engine-27-review-vs-silverstone-and-cryorig/page-2

Pabst, Nidec, Delta, Sunon, Panaflo, Panasonic, NMB are some of the fans I have seen there. Most are 24v I believe.. but you can find 12v models as well. I ran Panaflo’s for a decade and a half lol.. They got replaced with some louder Noctua’s lol..
