The fact that all cars don't come pre-equipped with a dashcam is, frankly, idiotic.

They should but we need to think about older generations of cars pre-2000s that are still drive able and in decent shape to this day. 90s and older generations could only dream of simply connecting a device in your pocket to your cars audio system.

people get so much video out of Ukraine because of dashcams. It's virtually mandatory on these roads. That's for drivers that are 25 or 55. No difference. Be that a Bentley or a rusty Niva.

I'm talking production wise most 2010s and up do have some type of camera built in. Insurance agencies should be shipping them per request if they don't come already eduipped given the $100s of dollars we give them every month.

they sort of do this but not for video, no? Some application that uses the accelerometer and GPS data to set you a rating for safety or whatever.

  • 2 weeks later...

bought this for my other car when i saw the deal. been using for a few days, so far it's been great for the price. doesn't come with an sd, but those are cheap if you don't have one lying around. pretty surprised by the quality of videos for the price.

Courious about a dashcam for liability things in accidents. I see that one has a G Force sensor. Does the video say in an overlay what they are? It also doesn't look like it has a speed on the overlay?

I'm not actually trying to be as grumpy as it seems.

I will find your mentions of Ikea or Gnome and I will /s post.

g shock works decent, went off from heavy wind yesterday, so i might have to adjust it. no speed in overlay.

it has date and time(as long as you set it) in the overlay, if that's what you mean.
