3000$ Gaming // Video Editing // 4k-ready Beast Setup

You don't have to listen to me, but I'll just give things to think about and possibly get my questions answered. Is there really a point in a 4K ready build now? Even if your going to be editing in 4K right now, wouldn't it just downsize and become 1440/1080p (especially when your not getting a 4K monitor right now) which is how most people view things now and probably will for the future? 4K ready things will become more available and possibly cheaper when 4K becomes the norm, but then there will be a resolution bigger than that by then. Why not build for today and the near future (probably 1440p would be more common) and wait for the future to build for the norm in that future?

Unless you get paid stacks to edit the movies that will come out in theatres, then that would be another story, though from what I see, that is unlikely. (No offense intended).

Man I'm in charge of the editing of the new Hobbit movie!!

.. not.

In all seriousness, replace 4k with 1440p and build me something for 3k :D (3000 dollars)

The above build would be able to feed 2560x1440 @ 120hz all day every day, a very fast machine for 2.5k, yet silly and slow for 4k :P

Speaking about that, I'm surprise to see that there's no 1440p monitor with 120hz on PcPartPicker. Did they even exist?
