Anime Club - Heaven Society

JLCitadel

Note that I recommended Disgaea 2 because it's the easiest to start on, but Disgaea 1 is my favorite.

they're independent?

There is a slim connection between each game. The character cast from one game occasionally pop up as bonus/extra characters in another disgaea game, although some characters like Etna is a main character in multiple games... She is popular. Disgaea D2 is abit different though, it's the 5:th Game, but it takes place after the first game, I don't think they have, made a port of that game yet though, and if they did it would probably end up on Vita.

Mostly. Same general mechanics/style, but different stories almost entirely. Disgaea 2 is easier to play (as are subsequent entries in the series) than Disgaea 1 simply because Disgaea 1 lacks a lot of the "quality of life" features the rest of the games have. The XP modifier I mentioned is one example.

But yeah. You can play all of them in any order except for D2. Cat mentioned why. I was disappointed in D2 because it seemed a lot more "We're doing this because we know you want it. Not because we want to do it." than anything else.

It's like... when an anime releases the inevitable beach episode because "boobs" and they know the fans want it, but it doesn't really add anything to it. And anyone who actually enjoys the show for other reasons is disappointed in that episode because that's not what they want. I mean, D2 has a plot and everything, it's just not what I expected or wanted.

... They Rule 63'd Laharl in it. That sums up my experience right there.

But Disgaea 1 was great. It was the perfect mix of everything that I can imagine is awesome. The Occult/Magic, Sci-Fi, Anime, debauchery, Tactical Turn Based RPG, etc.

Armoured core?

Pfft.

SRW master race.

Watch Bright Noa slap some sense into characters from other Gundam series or differenet mecha series entirely. Such as Shinji from Evangelion(I think that was in SRW4).

Or noodles That's like basic stuff right there.

im a college student and I am going to the grocery store tomorrow. I am also on a paleo diet. not a strict paleo diet but one that consist of a low carb/zero sugar diet. so high protein, vegetables, some fruit, and anything that is considered whole foods.

how's that working out

I actually lost a bit of weight after I raised my sugar intake, cut portions a bit, and removed nearly all processed foods.

oh, well good luck I guess.

Personally I'm one of those lucky folks that don't have to deal with diets (unless they want to) or worry about weight.

Interesting. Have you seen Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead? It's on Netflix.

An Australian goes on a 60 day diet of nothing but vegetable & fruit juice to cure an ailment he's had for 9 years and get back into shape. Then he meets other people along the way who do it as well. His doctor explains why it's a good idea. Obviously, no processed anything is important, but it literally forces your body to use the fat it has built up as energy while sustaining you with vitamins & nutrients. Pretty cool regardless.

I'm going to try that next. I need to cut out unhealthy sugars and processed foods in general. I have a very serious concern that I'll be a diabetic before I'm 25 at this rate. :|

the main thing is processed food and just sticking with whole foods. but by doing this you also inevitably create a low carb diet, as carbs are not "natural". 99% of all sugars now a days is processed so you are also eliminating a very large portion of sugar from your diet.

I dont need to worry about a diet. I am 5'11", 175 lbs, and I can see my abs despite not working out and occasionally going for a run. the reason I choose to do it is that it makes me feel better. whole foods in general give me more energy and allow me to focus better on my academics.

Have not, but I'm so backlogged with stuff I probably won't.

One of the more interesting bits I've heard is to avoid diet foots (i.e. sugar free, low-this, no-that etc)

I've cut everything that isn't meat, fruit, vegetable, grain, dairy, eggs, and spices. I bake my own stuff now to cover any sugar cravings.  Nothing packaged or canned, no soda or juices either, water and tea only.

this type of diet is actually surprisingly easy to maintain (more of eating normal things than an actual diet)

Probably going to bulk up on some fruit and oven dry and cure some stuff since I usually take fruits and sweet peppers for lunch, and the heaviest thing I'll pack is probably peanut better and preserve/banana/honey sandwiches.

I must say though, I really don't miss soda at all. Shits overhyped.

no juice!? ;_; i cant live without those!

That's pretty nice though, I just consume whatever I get my hands on :P But that's mostly because I can't be bothered 8 out of 10 times to be picky. I have stuff to do. I should hire a chef.
