trying to fall asleep but stupidly reading th forum on my phone so its not working very well lol

Same... Have work tomorrow too... Fuck...

Stayed up all night doing a single essay... I started it at 10.00 PM, finished it at 4.00 AM, no point sleeping at that point, so...

Though, I really do need some caffeine right now. In school now and feeling like sh*t.

hmm , whys it so quiet tonight ? hangovers ? or other reasons ?

I guess it's night in the Americas, and just early in the morning for Europe. So these hours are usually quite a bit quieter than others.

Never trust my advice. Only take any and all advice from me with a grain of salt. Just a heads up.

You had a good reason for staying up all night. I just wanted to watch one episode of anime before going to sleep. Suddenly i realised that clock was 5am and one episode turned to be one series.

I have done that too. In fact, when I first started watching anime, I watched one episode starting from like 4.00 PM, then after every episode, I was like "might as well watch one more", and before I knew it, it was 11.00 PM already, and I have accidentally watched the entire season of a 12 episodes long series (if you're curious, it was Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun) as my first anime I have ever watched fully aware of what I was viewing at (so not as a kid).

As for schoolwork... I should have done it earlier. I know this, but I never learn it.

ahh. gotcha.

my evening is full of this Kyoukai no Kanata , and sketching some random birds for no reason haha

You seen this season's movies yet? Wondering whether it's worth watching the first one for someone who already saw the show.

In case the moderators do not ban me as requested, this is a notice that I have left and am not coming back.

it find it watchable as long as I ignore the "plot" and try to only pay attention to the needed story lol

Ok so two things come to mind.

Either the printer is not Calibrated properly.

Or whatever your printing is not centered on the print bed in the Software.

what software do you use?

I use cura. I do know my print bed is sightly uneven. As the prints look better more toward the back than they do in the front. I was following the instructions provided by printrbot but they are mostly crap as they are poorly written. Wasn't till I found a video if their CEO running through the set up process 2 hours later that I finally understood how things were working.

Like I tell people, I am a hardware person. Hardware, machines and mechanisms I get. Programming, you might as well consider that French to me.

Did that Video say anything how to sync the machine with the software?

It's plug and play. When you foray open cura you get a window asking for some settings such as what printer you are using. They have a fairly good list of about 15 or so printers. From there printrbot has an .ini profile you load into the software with the file load profile button. That's it. It connects automagicly.

I do wish I had to option to adjust the print head height by a thousant or .001

Your joke is right in line with my statment that was the "plot" I was referring to.

I'm a hardware person as well I can usually look at a machine and understand how it works really quickly but I am a little slow at programming but I can so some simple stuff but I have not done much so I'm not that good at it.

Good news. I found that setting the base and top layer to .8mm has resulted in better base prints. I can't set the print head higher as it will extrude more filament

hmm, didnt know. no risk for the tape to get stuck on the printed object?

not sure I have never used a 3d printer but I have seen the tape trick done a lot when it was more of the diy printers being the main printers

The blue tape adds a slightly less sticky surface than the powder coated steel. The pla does adhear a little bit to the tape but it is nearly as easy to remove the model from the tape as it is to remove the tape from the print bed. Plus you. Can always pull the tape up even if the model is really stuck to it. On thing I want to do it print a pen holder so I can use it as a plotter and make some circuit boards.

I did not get a yellow plate or similar item.

Edit: actually I've had a little trouble getting the filament to stick to the tape so I wipe the tape down with some rubbing alcohol. It makes the tape a little sticky. Not sure if this is still the case now that I am printing a better base.

Having never used a 3d printer I will say maybe. Any time a extrusion based 3d printer moves away from the object it is printing it will have a tendency to pull a string with it. I have seen some people print walls as they are going so that they can wipe the nozzle off before going back to print I think that was with multi color printing mainly though

well that is about all I can say with no real knowledge lol

hmmm. I do have one suggestion for scafolding. the program needs to print X axis line of scafold every so often. I have a spot where the scafold has pealed up for what ever reason. I feel adding some X axis scafold would make it a bit stronger with out adding much more time to the print. it did print on the X axis on the first layer but that was the only time. for the record. the scafold is on the Y axis.
