I made a Minecraft server. Now how do I use it?

da na

Excuse the noob question, I'm quite new to servers and networking overall. I set up a server using Terminal and a server launcher in Ubuntu 20.04. To connect to it do I just add the ip of the computer in the server list on another PC? Do I need to input the port or name or does that not matter? And finally can I connect to the Linux server on Bedrock Edition?

Any help would be appreciated!

Edit: How do I find my ip on Ubuntu?

So for connecting from a local PC on same network just type "localhost" in server address and for PCs outside it would be your public ipv4 address. As for the bedrock question it depends where you got the server from but I would assume you got a Java server and that would not work with Bedrock Edition

No, MC Java and MC Bedrock are two completely different programs, and, of course, their server software is completely different too

Actually, there's a mod for this. So it is possible. @Mel0nMan

No. If you are using a different system you just need to enter the local ipv4 of the system the server is on to connect to it.
