NVIDIA LEGENDARY DRIVER UPDATE RELEASE DATE*SOONER THAN YOU THINK*

WELCOME
GeForce-337.50.png

SOURCE:http://videocardz.com/50176/nvidias-geforce-337-50-wonder-driver-released-april-7th

As you know, normally we don’t make posts about the drivers. However sometimes there are drivers that provide significant improvement over previous version, for instance, first AMD driver to support Mantle.

NVIDIA will release its GeForce 337.50 driver, which introduces some major changes, on April 7th.

If you remember those few slides released by PC Perspective then you know what to expect. GeForce 337.50 will supposedly dramatically reduce CPU overhead by increasing most important API calls in DirectX 11.2. Of course, we are looking at something less powerful than Mantle, however those DirectX improvements, which are added to 337.50 driver will support significantly more games than Mantle ever will. There are still two days to verify all those empty words. I will remain skeptical till Monday.
What’s interesting is that we already have a change-log, which summarizes performance gains in selected titles.

  • Up to 64% in Total War: Rome II

What about the Games like Battlefield 4 and such?

that game is mainly supported by mantle so that is why they really do not really try to improve performance on it(at least i would think)

nice i like it very much. maybe when they finally release dx12 driver for my GTX 660 it can outperform GTX 660 ti and be on par with GTX 670... who knows...

those that do backups
those that have never had a hard drive fail.

BF4 is also a current clusterfuck and as a player, I'd rather they work on the whole "Less crashing" thing before they do the "moar graphix" thing

What's so legendary about it?

The stone cannot know why the chisel cleaves it; the iron cannot know why the fire scorches it. When thy life is cleft and scorched, when death and despair leap at thee, beat not thy breast and curse thy evil fate, but thank the Builder for the trials that shape thee.

If it would be 700 series only than it would be only GTX780/780ti/Titan.

Because all the other 700 series cards are just 600 rebrands.

So it will be also 600 series or else they would've wrote no GTX770/760 support.

What's so legendary about it?

It gives performance increases as much as Mantle but on DirectX 11.

Or at least that's what Nvidia claims.

Ya know, if the 660 will be able to deliver more performance with DX12, the 670 will too! Crazy, right?

I'm a bit skeptical about the graphs, but it would be awesome if they managed to pull this off.

More fps in Skyrim, amazing how they can still pump out improvements on a three year old game.

Any potential performance boost for my GTX 580 is welcome, it's not ready for retirement just yet. They mention DirectX 11 improvements, do you think this driver update will increase performance in OpenGL too?

on the contrary, if nvidia could get r9 290x frame rates with a 780 on bf4, they would make so much headlines

yes but they wont because they said that they will not support mantle no matter how open and free it is
