I am an old man I learned to type on a typewriter. Yes they still taught me on a  typewriter in the late 90s. Anyway to the point, about 85-90.

I estimate about 50-85 wpm, with hunting and pecking somewhat, I am not strict about adhereing exaclty to "typing" standards, I move my hands alot more than most people, my left had remains mostly stationary, I only really use my pointer, middle, and ring finger on my right hand, pink only for enter, ctrl, and shift on that hand.

Ketchup is better than mustard.

GUI is better than Command Line Interface.

Dubs are better than subs

Tried the type racer test a couple of times. Got 72 WPM both times. I type with two fingers, left pinky for Lshift (I'm a gamer, duh) and thumbs for the space bar.

I only get around 70 on this crappy laptop keyboard. I tend to make mistake with punctuation, as it's hard to reach on this keyboard they way I hold the laptop.

If I had a good typing keyboard, I would still probably not top 85 or so. Idk.

muh specs

Gaming and HTPC (reparations)- ASUS 1080, MSI X99A SLI Plus, 5820k- 4.5GHz @ 1.25v, asetek based 360mm AIO, RM 1000x, 16GB memory, 750D with front USB 2.0 replaced with 3.0  ports, 2 250GB 850 EVOs in Raid 0 (why not, only has games on it), some hard drives

Screens- Acer preditor XB241H (1080p, 144Hz Gsync), LG 1080p ultrawide, (all mounted) directly wired to TV in other room

Stuff- k70 with reds, steel series rival, g13, full desk covering mouse mat

All parts black

Workstation(desk)- 3770k, 970 reference, 16GB of some crucial memory, a motherboard of some kind I don't remember, Micomsoft SC-512N1-L/DVI, CM Storm Trooper (It's got a handle, can you handle that?), 240mm Asetek based AIO, Crucial M550 256GB (upgrade soon), some hard drives, disc drives, and hot swap bays

Screens- 3  ASUS VN248H-P IPS 1080p screens mounted on a stand, some old tv on the wall above it.

Stuff- Epicgear defiant (solderless swappable switches), g600, moutned mic and other stuff.

Laptop docking area- 2 1440p korean monitors mounted, one AHVA matte, one samsung PLS gloss (very annoying, yes). Trashy Razer blackwidow chroma...I mean like the J key doesn't click anymore. I got a model M i use on it to, but its time for a new keyboard. Some edgy Utechsmart mouse similar to g600. Hooked to laptop dock for both of my dell precision laptops. (not only docking area)

Shelf- i7-2600 non-k (has vt-d), 380t, some ASUS sandy itx board, intel quad nic. Currently hosts shared files, setting up as pfsense box in VM. Also acts as spare gaming PC with a 580 or whatever someone brings. Hooked into laptop dock area via usb switch

I average at 60-69 for random paragraphs, and 77-85 for normal writing.

I got 48WPM with 98% accuracy. However, when I'm typing what I am thinking about I tend to type a little faster, not much though.

I've built 3 PC's, but none for myself... In fact, I'm using an iMac that my dad bought for me as my desktop. Awkward...

Please don't say "SSD drive." By doing so, you are literally saying "Solid State Drive Drive" and causing my brain cells to commit suicide. The same applies to HDD (Hard Disk Drive) and PCIe (Peripheral Component Interconnect Express).

74 on that 10 fast fingers one but I've gotten up to mid 80s on other tests. Also I'm typing on membrane keys and while lying down.

Got 46 WPM on the first try, 54 on the second one. I think that's okayish, considering English is not my native language.

Woot, 62 on the thrid try.

EDIT: Yeah, I average at about 52-56.

Any unknown button should be pressed even number of times.

45 Words per minute with a negligible number of errors. I am pretty peculiar and bad at typing. I only use my index fingers and I always look at my keyboard while I'm typing.

Normal tests show me at around 135-150WPM. Typeracer has me set as a god often reaching almost 200WPM :) Gogogo 20 years of sitting in front of a keyboard.

This is actually an area of personal failure for me

As a kid I took mavis beacon typing, but never actually mastered it all the way.  The result is that my "proper" typing is slower than my hunt an peck typing.  The latter of which is in the 55-60 range.

I can type most things without looking at the keyboard, but by looking I can increase my speed even more.  It's one of those odd things, I am on the forums so much that even my non official non standard typing allows for passable typing speeds.

What scares me though are the people who type officially at 100+ wpm.  Any one of you that has that capacity, I am afraid of you, I find you no different from some human form mutant.  I don't think your brains are normal, you were probably born some mental genius because people that I have been around that typed that fast worked and thought faster than most human beings.  You are above normal mortal men.  You are probably better at math, better at coding, better at everything, an elite among elites, all tied to typing speed.

I am impelled not to squeak like a grateful and frightened mouse, but to roar...

Just curious. If you haven't tested yours, 10fastfingers.com will do fine.

Mine depends on the language I'm using, and English goes better than my native language. average of 105
