Budget is $300 or less and I would like passive models

 

never had a pair before, so I am new to this, any suggestions?

Ehhhhh I don't trust Corsair with audio. I love their cases and ram though.

I really like my CEntrance 2504 paired with a Lepai 2020a+ amp. If not that, then I would go with Audioengine a2+. 

My personal rig - 4790k 4.8Ghz, Asus Z97 Pro (wi-fi ac), Corsair Dominator Plat 4x8GB, SLI GTX 1080 TI FE, Samsung 850 Evo 1TB, Crucial MX100 512GB, EVGA G3 1000W, and cooled by a hardline liquid cooling loop.

I really like the look of the audioengine p4, very sexy looking, but for $250 can you do better for the price?

What I am currently using are Polk tl3's...Sound fantastic and don't need a sub at all plus they are sexy. I have auditioned all kinds of PC speakers and these are the ones I am keeping...for now anyway. I like to buy new toys.

Ah well CEntrance 2504 or Audioengine P4 would be my recommendation. Although beware that the CEntrance banana plug connectors they use will add like 3 inches in the back. They are both similar sized but I have heard that the P4s lack bass like many of the 2.0 systems out there. My experience with the CEntrance ones are that they actually have too much bass than I want. On the Lepai amp, I use the toning and set the treble to 10 and the bass to around 7. Although for some reason when I use toning and they are both set to the same levels, it sounds fuller than direct.
