Why wouldn't it work? if there is a product for it, then surely it would work? Why would you need this? Why not buy a normal ram stick?

If you already have the RAM and you're switching from a laptop to desktop the adapter is probably cheaper than buying new RAM. But in all other cases I'd definitely go with normal desktop RAM instead.

I only need answer, not another question. Thanks Btw.

I have spare ram from my laptop and i am planning to use it to budget build.

I tried to sell it but nobody is taking it.

Well in that case, keep it. No harm, if no one will buy it.

I'd say don't buy adapters.

You only have 8 GB of DDR4 in the form of 2 sticks of 4 GB.

You would have to buy 2 such adapters and they're  around 7$ each on ebay, so you'd pay 15$ on eBay.

Your SO-DIMMs are probably 2133 Mhz or 2400 Mhz, so if you go for a Ryzen machine, you'd lose a lot of performance, as Ryzen processors like fast ram, in the 3000/3200/3600 range.

Even if the SO-DIMM sticks are higher frequencies, the adapters would probably add enough noise and lengthen the traces enough to not make high frequencies viable.

Save that 15$ and put 10-15$ and get a single 8 GB stick .. when you have more money buy a 2nd stick for dual channel memory mode and even more performance.
