I know he is happily scratching it, but the sound it seems to dissapear less than half way through.

Oh I think I know what you mean. His right volume fader seems to be up but there's no sound coming through am I right?

 

He's controlling using the crossfader. He moved the crossfader to the left so the sound you hear is from only the left turntable even though the volume on the right is up.

I'm listning to Helios by Sick. It's a really great industrial black metal band from Belarus.
