No name with fake certificates as used for most led lights on amazon. As for actual brands I'd have to say it is a brand that starts with a "B" and offers really high wattage for suspiciously low prices (don't want to shame them though)

My old psu was the huntkey 550w. Idk if it was bad but it worked for me for a few months before replacing it with a thermaltake lite power 550w (which is less dangerous but still is) since my old one dont have an 8 pin for my rx580.

Im still using the lite power for the past 2-3 years and so far, its working fine on my pc.

Im with the mentaility of "IF IM NOT SURE IF ITS ENOUGH COOLING, GO OVERKILL"

There is no such thing as the worst brand. Even Armageddon has Gold rated PSUs (not saying they are great based on their efficiency level, but, hey, they're at least trying). When you ask these kind of questions you should ask which model of PSU and not the brand.

Here is the worst PSU that someone has reviewed that I have ever seen.

No.. God no.  That Huntkey was WAY better than that Thermaltake you have now.  You can't buy much worse than a Thermaltake Lite.  Just because it has a 6+2-pin PCIe connector doesn't make it better.

The only company I know of that made CONSISTENTLY horrible products was Powmax.

Fortunately, when the chargers they supplied to Razor for their electric scooters started to catch fire, they got sued out of existence.

I don't like Solytech, even if they occasionally do something good.

Good news.  They closed that factory down a few years ago.

Let's leave generalisations by brand for the 12 year old fanboys out there. 🙂

Any company is equally capable of selling garbage, and of selling actually good products

Stepping away from brands, is there an actual ‘worst’ power supply regardless of manufacturer?

I'm sure that @jonnyGURU (is your website dead man?) would love to share some very unofficial and off the record thoughts and opinions on this topic in of course only the most loving terms.

I've seen some crap over the years, I think my old Thermaltake TR2 RX is the worst that I've owned, luckily I never had enough hardware to push it hard enough to show it's failings but unluckily I only learned that it was crap until many many years later. Who knows, I might have gotten an even better overclock out of my E8400 if I had a better power supply! I personally have experienced what a difference a clean power supply makes, swapping a unit of questionable quality for a much better one let me drop the voltage needed for a stable overclock on a CPU without dropping any clock speeds. Ripple matters!
