If they are all cards that were part of the mining operation I wouldn't get em unless they were 100 under MSRP. The cards being at or higher than MSRP would be ridiculous in my opinion (as they were probably bought at that price), since those cards probably been under load 100% 24/7.

Keep in mind that when manufacturers make warranties, they take in consideration worst case scenario and divide by half or more. A 3 year warranty for a card means that > or = 70% are designed well enough to survive for 5-6 years. The short changed warranty is to cover their ass and profit margins. 100% load is still a card that will perform for longer than you care to keep your current PC.

Doesn't justify the fact that they probably bought it at MSRP and are now selling it on ebay at around MSRP... A lot of people are blaming miners for the prices going up and now you are letting miners get away with the prices they actually got their cards for.

I'm pretty sure even at worst case scenario they still expect you to sleep. They come up with a MTBF of how long the component would last running 24/7, then figure an average of how much it will be used to determine a lifespan, then build in a padding for them to figure a warranty.

If a card that has been running for several months pegged at 100% will last 5-6 years, mine is good for a lifetime.

@ The people that say 24/7 usage isn't a good idea. I don't get why you think that especially when the cards were probably not OCed to the extremes as that means higher electricity bills = less profits. 24/7 for a few months won't kill a card or even damage it at best. The life of a GPU is quite long, a few months of hardcore usage won't kill a card or people wouldn't farm..

@ OP I can't find any good deals on AMD cards on eBay :(.. I live in the UK and prices aren't inflated (they haven't been ever to my knowledge over here). WHY YOU GIVE ME HOPES JUST TO BRING ME DOWN?

I never keep any of the "gaming" cards for longer than 2 years because I don't want the hassle of RMA or just plain loosing out on all of my money so I don't have a direct comparison... but I've had at least a dozen ~$50 cards die on me between 1-2 years of use, while on 24/7 and not even really being used, just as a display out. Some will go black for a second or two every few minutes, some stutter and shake, some just flat out quit, but every time I see one of my monitors acting funny it is the GPU at fault. Heat slowly chips away at the lifespan of electrical components, and electrical components produce more heat the more they are being used. Sure they aren't held to the same standard as high end cards, but its not like they sprinkle magic on the high end cards where they don't have similar faults. For all I know they could be perfectly fine, but to me personally a bit of peace of mind and potentially avoiding a hassle is well worth the extra money for a new card. I don't have tons of time to game, so the last thing I want is to go out and have issues with my computer.

If they can OC and get a little better of a hash rate - the electricity costs here in the USA is not generally expensive and therefore it is also worth OC'ing the cards (especially compared to the price of a card). Also, I believe I saw reports that Canada was one of the biggest Mining countries, the byproduct of these cards is heat, something they are going to spend money on as well (instead of cooling) so it mitigates (not much, but still does) some of the additional costs of the electricity. I'm up in the New England area of USA, and my computer (though not high end graphics card at the moment) is usually running and it's nice to close the door and feel the temperature raise a few degrees.

In case you are wondering, this is probably the cause. We know for sure they already had $2million in preorders so.... ya GPU's about to be obsolete.

https://www.kncminer.com/products/titan

$2mil / $10K = 200 units

200 units x 100 MH/s = 20,000 MH/s or 20 GH/s

to put this in perspective the entire LTC network right now is about 165 GH/s

and the $2mil was news from a couple weeks ago, could be  $4-5 million now you never know!

and this company has a good history for delivering a product on time.

Meh, if I can get a 7970ghz to aussieland for cheap then I might pick one up...Cheapest i've seen AMD cards in a long time...
