I'm SOOOO glad it fits!!

Hey all,

Just wanna put it out there because TECHNICALLY my config shouldn't work due to height clearance (170mm vs 176mm). Once assembled I have probably around a paper's width of clearance left between the glass and top of the cooler.

  • (!)Case: Corsair 4000D Airflow
  • (!)Ram: Trident-Z Neo 3600Mhz 16GB x 2
  • (!)CPU Cooler: Noctua NH-D15

Other stuff:

  • CPU: Ryzen 3700x
  • Motherboard:Aorus X570 Pro Wifi
  • GPU: 3080 Amp Holo
  • PSU: Seasonic TX-1000 Gold
  • Storage: Adata XPG SX8200 Pro 1TB + 2 x 250 Samsung 840 evo + 1 TB WD Black.
  • Fans: Back:
    • 120mm NH-F12 LTT
    • Top: 140mm NH-A14 Chromax
    • Front 2 x 140mm NH-A14

Hopefully it will help others when researching parts. I was prepared to swap the front CPU fan with a 120mm fan if it hits the case window.

P/S: Pardon the crappy pictures. Crappy lighting due to rona.

If you can, I'd recommend getting a little piece of silicone (the rubbery stuff they make baking and cooking stuff out of, cut a piece off) and wedge it inbetween the cooler and the ram  sticks, just to keep them apart electrically,  just incase.

Why though? The part that rests on top of the rams are the plastic fan housing. Its basically RGB strip plastic on Black plastic fan housing. The metal cooler fins is not touching the ram.

If it's just the fan housing then should be fine. I just don't like conductive things touching other conductive things, so it was the cooling fins I'd do this.

Am I the only one who doesn’t like the 4000Ds front pannel? Looks like a black fence

Pretty sure you're not, but I loved it lol. I would've gone for phanteks P400A/500A if wasn't for the looks. (Dem super dark smoked glass side panel with those neon lights looks damn amazing IRL)

To each their own I guess haha.

I always thought it looked like a ventilation cover from a building.

Yeah same here - My main rig. I had to change my RAM to Corsair LPX. Like you the fan in the middle of the two heatsinks I didn't bring up to level both fans for looks purposes. My reasoning was the one that is sitting lower is probably moving air on the VRMs/VRM heatsinks, which if I raised it would not do so much for them.

Here you go, the amount of dust that got in is a lot more than I expected but most likely due to my current location.

You can see i barely have any wiggle room for the front fans

Hey guys, I have the same case and cooler, does it seem that the cooler is slightly tilted downwards? I had the same config in a previous case and did not notice this, I don't know if I did something wrong but I already reinstalled it twice and it's the same.

Are you sure its the heatsink and not just the fans? That can happen if you mistakenly used the wrong fins to slot the fan hooks in. I didn't notice any tilt on my heatsink.
