My review of the 9H actually ended up more positive than I expected. It's sandwiched in between the 7H, which I really like and the Siberia Elite, which is a much more premium (and also much more expensive) product.

Well Steelseries is one of the only companies that doesn't totally skimp on audio quality. The freq range that most of their headsets have are pretty good compared to other "gaming headsets".

Does this work with the PS4 using the jack in the controller?

Should work with one of the included adapters, But i don't think it'll actually output game audio. only chat. you could however plug them directly into the TV to get full audio.

One thing I'm not sure of with these included USB sound cards is how they perform with dedicated sound cards with the stand 3.5 mm jacks.. Huge upgrade on build quality; the H7 was infamous for deteriorating headbands.

Definitely a headset set in my sights, great review Linus! Finally made an account!

I wouldn't go so far as to call the M50's pleather rubbish. There's definitely pleather out there that's a lot worse(and much more thin). Most if not all pleather will crack(sooner or later depending on how well you take care of it), so I do wish their headband would have been made of another material, as at least the ear pads can be replaced. It took about 2 years I think for my M50's pads to start cracking, and beyond wiping sweat off them, I haven't really done anything special to take care of them.

Just wondering is the mic removable from the headset?

pretty sure that it isn't removable, but it does retract all the way into it and nothing sticks out (so that is pretty close)

How come Linus never mentions anything about channels such as 5.1, 7.1, or stereo. Which i believe the 9H are stereo. In my opinion stereo headsets are not the best for hardcore gamers that like to sound whore, or does what im saying have no truth too it?

deteriorating headbands? how would anyone get to that point when the cord would break after a couple of months.
