Can you increase 3200mhz RAM to 3600mhz?

monx101

When i was planning to build my pc last oct, most of the videos I watch in YT suggest to pair 5000 series cpu w/ 3200mhz RAM. Recently all videos say sweetspot is at 3600mhz.

MB: MSI B550M Mortar

CPU: RYZEN 5 5600X

RAM: CORSAIR VENGEANGE LPX 3200MHZ CL16 32GB (4x8 kit)

Is it possible to increase clock to 3600mhz with the same latency?

in the bios it is very possible to overclock them to 3600mhz, i had a 2400mhz kit that i overclocked to 2800mhz so it should work

yeah it'd called overclocking. but its not always guaranteed. not all motherboards allow it, and your ram might not take the increase in voltage.

Gaming PC: • AMD Ryzen 7 3900x • 16gb Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 3200mhz • Founders Edition 2080ti • 2x Crucial 1tb nvme ssd • NZXT H1• Logitech G915TKL • Logitech G Pro • Asus ROG XG32VQ • SteelSeries Arctis Pro Wireless

Laptop: MacBook Pro M1 512gb

You can TRY overclocking your DDR4-3200 kit to DDR4-3600...but it's not 100% guaranteed.

Corsair / G.Skill / Kingston bin their DRAM chips.

Usually of those DRAM chips pass as DDR4-3600 CL16, they will GET assembled / sold as DDR4-3600 kits.

DRAM overclocking guide (it's a pretty long read):

Yeah sure it is possible but you may have to loosen timings to get it stable but sure you can always try.
