Geforce GT 1030 Video Hardware encoding with Handbreak

I would like to know if it will be possible to use Geforce GT 1030 for video hardware enconding with Handbreak. Anyone have any good ideas?!

Unfortunately the GT 1030 doesn't have a hardware encoder (NVENC). It can only decode videos.

CPU encoding is still the best, in terms of output size. And if you have intel cpu you can make use of Quicksync which is still better than Nvenc and VCE.

So you're not missing out alot here.

It can still do that, as can my early 2000's SiS 305. Not even OEM would want to go for a GPU that can't decode.

Nope, NVENC is the top, then QuickSync.

Honestly quick sync is crazy, since i upgraded to win 11 my lousy intel hd 630 can record videos no problem, my mx940 Nvidia dgpu, cannot do that, if i try its a stuttery choppy mess…

 

(and it didnt work on the intel either before i upgraded tbh, but win 11 downloaded some new'ish intel drivers and they can do it)

Your MX940 doesn't have NVENC at all, the same as the GT 1030. It also doesn't help any situation if its the DDR3 version:
