I have the Xbone and the PS4 and they are both great  :)

 

I use my PC the most for gaming though.

PC wins in every category except price.  This is only my opinion though.

 

You could get a $2000+ PC and get maximum performance or you could get a console for much less and it wouldn't perform nearly as well but would have better optimization in certain games.

Pretty much this. I don't know why people try to complicate things. The $2K thing is an exaggeration but I get your point.

Price too: the larger initial hardware investment pays itself within a year or less of purchasing with a couple of steam sales and other highly discounted games.

don't really see the difference (from a PC perspective).  The only reason you would buy one over the other is exclusives.

Yes, initial price is what keeps most people from building a custom pc that can play games at max settings at 1080p (I won't accept anything less) but Steam Sales make it all worth it IMO.
